So... You have a 10 man Marines squad and you want to shoot a unit of orks and a battlewagon through a unit of your terminators

What will happen

1)If I shoot the unit the unit of orks-they will get cover (4+),because I am firing through my unit of terminost

2) If I shoot the Battlewagon through my unit of terminators will it get a 4+ cover save(because I am firing through my unit) or wit will not receive any cover as it is not 50% obscured by the terminators???

Same question

(If you fire my Marines through more than 2" of area Terrain at a Battlewagon that is not in 50% obscured, does the Battlewagon get a 4+cover save(or it does not apply as it is a vehicle and vehicles can claim cover only if they are 50% obscured)

Thanks a lot

The cover rules are clear in both of those situations you have listed.

1) The unit gets cover if 50% or more of the model that are being fired at are in cover from the point of view of the attacker. In most cases where the firing unit(Unit A) and the unit being fired upon(Unit B) are on level terrain and there is a unit in between that blocks 50% or more of Unit B's Models then they are in cover as per the rules in the brb.

2) Vehicles must be 50% or more obscured to receive any benefit of cover.

1) Yes, so long as half or more of the orks are obscured from the point of view of the firing unt, then they will get a cover save. Main rules page 22 3rd bullet point.

2) Any time you fire at a vehicle it must be 50% obscured to gain a cover save.

Last question, same as above, the vehicle must be 50% obscured. Also of note is that when firing more than 2" out of terrain, the unit must be shooting through the terrain, which means they must be firing out between elements of the terrain.
