Lost in the Warp....

Hey fellow dakka memebers I have been on like a 4 or 5 months hiatus. I feel the prices were just to high and lost touch of 40k. But Now I have things starting to look up. I am coming in with a new and positive mindset of this game. To get to the point I am making a new army. Any list ideas or armies to use. What is the meta game in tournaments is it still Wolves, Guard, Grey Knights, and Angels? Or have sister or other armies been strong in the tournament scene!

Same list, different army

GK, Wolves, and Blood angels are considered the "top tier" armies in tournaments...

Yeah, the game hasn't changed all that much; I don't think any big new tricks have really come up. It's still mech-heavy, but new Necrons are coming out and they could shake things up a bit. Sisters are pretty much a joke with their current WD codex.

I can't believe no-one mentioned guard yet...

Still a very solid tourney army, a reasonable counter to GK's.

Why'd you find that odd? The plasma tank rapes the GK terminators.

From what I see, yes, it's still the same old stuff. Space Marines, hiding and cowering in veicles who rarely come out to claim objectives.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

What I meant by odd is nobody has mentioned imperial guard. Like what Warboss said!

I suspect the necrons will soon turn into the flavor of the month as a very good codex in about a week from now. From all the leaked stuff anyway

Is this before or after the land raider with the loudspeakers shrieking something about Sparta run them over, followed by the terminators inside (Also screaming something about Sparta) hopping out and playing Whackamole with criminal (xenos) scrum that appear to no longer ignore invulnerable saves? They ain't going to be FOTM for long, the Emprah is going to make sure of that!

Anyway, back on topic....Meta is pretty much the same as it was four months ago. Lots of IG, DE, BA, SW, GK. Pretty boring, to be honest. As for which army, pick the one you LIKE, ignore the meta, ignore the possible criers of "CHEESE!" and "BANDWAGON!" and concentrate on beating as many faces in and possible with the army YOUR (Not anyone elses, important bit.) money bought.
