Just curious as to what everyone's thoughts on this are. I've been itching to create a Marine army for a while now, but want to do something that looks oldschool 40k like back when I started playing in 2nd Edition. The new Land Raider Proteus just came out and it looks so much like the oldschool Land Raiders, but I'm a bit concerned buying them to use as a Land Raider. Why? Because it doesn't exactly have the same entry/exit hatches as a Land Raider.

Do you think this would cause issues at tournaments or casual play if I use a Proteus as a standard Land Raider?

Yeah, nobody should have a problem with it. I have an RT Land Raider that the model is based on, and nobody will give me any problems with that either.

Glad to hear. Gonna be using Contemptor's for my Dreads (as they look like the oldschool Dreadnoughts a bit) and using the shoulder-mounted heavy weapons from Forge World as well.

Sounds very cool... I can't imagine that anyone could balk at this awesome set of models (its even GW tourny legal).

I can't image people having issues with either of those. people would probably prefer you to use Contemptors, since they're taller and harder to hide.
