Definitely look into the
2 Player Box. Even if you don't want the Khador, it's still worth it even if all you do with the extra models are throw them away (please don't). Just from a Menoth models perspective you get the following:
pKreoss ($12)
Repenter Light Warjack ($19)
Vanquisher Heavy Warjack ($35)
Crusader Heavy Warjack ($35)
Max unit of Exemplar Cinerators ($45)
21pts
You can see by those retail prices of the individual bits, just the Menoth models alone are valued over $145. The Khador side is very similar in retail value, so you can often find Khador players willing to split the box with you or you can simply sell them at a discount and even further lower the cost of the box. The box also includes a compact rulebook, dice, ruler, etc. Well worth its $100 price tag.
I put Kreoss and jacks in italics because this is the new, alternative battle box set for Menoth. It is much better than the original stand-alone box set. pKreoss doesn't really need the arc node he had with the original and the Vanquisher is just plain mean. Further, to move to a solid 25pt army is as easy as adding a Minimum Choir unit and the Covenant of Menoth (aka The Book). Those two units are staples in nearly every Menoth list and make your beefy warjacks even meaner.
The other very nice thing about the new battlebox is having both of those heavy chassis kits in it. You can magnetize the kits so all it takes to try a different warjack is swapping out its arms and head. Let's say in the future you want to pick up the warjack upgrade kit for Blood of Martyrs or Scourge of Heresy. Rather than buying yet another heavy chassis, you can simply swap the arms and head out via magnets and there you go, $14 Blood of Martyrs instead of $49 BoM.
Ah crap, I may have nearly convinced myself to try out Menoth doing exactly this...
