Another Game I played in our escilation league against our local Space Wolves player. This was 3 objective with dawn of war deployment. I had first Turn.

My list: Hive Fleet Windigo

HQ
-Tervigon (Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacks, Onslaught, Catalyst) 210

Troops

-5 Warriors (Lash Whips, Boneswords, Scything Talons, Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs) 275

-9 Genestealers( Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs, Broodlord) 146

Fast Attack
3 Ravenors (Spine fists,) 120

Space Wolves

HQ
-Logan Grimgar

Troops
-Power Armour Wolf Guard with assorted combi and power weapons. 9 man

-Power Armour Wolf Guard with assorted combi and power weapons. 8 man

Deployment:

The objectives were deployed in a triangle around the center of the board. I put my Warriors in the middle crater, hid my Tervigon in the corner in the building and the stealers infiltrated in a crater to the right.

He put his to squads in the middle of his deployment zone and attached Logan to the squad on my left, I asked him if he wanted to maybe go in cover, and he said no. I then asked if he wanted to maybe rework his list. It is part of his Wolf Guard Army and he had to drop a bunch because he forgot he needed Logan to make it legal. He again said no. He then stole initiative.

Turn 1

Not much to say, he gave relentless with Logan and moved everything up shooting as he came, wounding one warrior. On my Turn I backed everything up a little, spit out 14 gaunts, rolled doubled again....... I have the only tervigon in the swarm with fertility issues I swear to god. The tervigon did give the warriors FNP and the ravenors came up and fleeted.

Both lists could do with some work, but it looks like you both had fun.

Why drop the Raveners (as opposed to shaving off that big warrior unit) for Hive Guard though; and why spinefists over rending claws?

The warriors allow me to assault into cover and take out heavy infantry. Ignoring armour and insta gibbing is nice, plus At worst I am going simo with an oppenent. They pay for themselves most games although I am dropping at least 1 maybe 2. Still experimenting with what works for my style of play. And spine fists was just to see if they worked with for ravoners with a descent base attack score. Survey so far says no, just charge with them. I am finding it hard to take them over gargoyles to be honest, but I wanted to play some games with them and give them an honest try.
