In another thread we were discussing ork tactics. One thing got me think, what happens when an Ork green tide meets a Nid horde list?
Both feature mountains of cheap models in large units. I'm talking full on 6 maxed out troop choices. Anyone seen one of these fought? Who would win? Any battle reports on here with that in it?
So, who brings the better wall of flesh?*
I'm excluding IG from this because they rely more on shooting, whereas nids and orks mostly rely on assault, though they do both do some shooting.

Orks.
Because Orks never lose a battle....and because they have better toughness, furious charge and can take either PowerKlaws (S8 nobs) or Big Choppas (S6 Nobs who strike at normal ini)

Carnage.
I've run my green tide into a 5 tervigon nid horde army before.
The combats got redonculous, especially with multi-assaults, and we had to use buckets for the dice rolling, on a seperate table...
Good time 'ad by all
Orks won, but it was a narrow thing.

A good nid player should win. Tervigons should be able to hold up the mobs by spawning fodder while the better bugs move from each troops choice one at a time.

Where did Tervigons come from?
A nid, CC horde army would have only hormagants.

Nids can hand FNP out like candy using tervigons, have poison options that make higher toughness irrelevant and many have or can be granted furious charge also. The big MC's can be a rough fight even for Big Choppas. PK's work fine though.
A thirty strong devgaunt unit will absolutely murder ork horde units.
I'd say they weigh in about equal, unless you deliberately tailored your list and the other person brought an all-comers..

Ohh I was thinking of only CC. I didn't read that bit in the OP about shooting.
Yeah, it would be pretty damn close.

Tervigons generate hordes
You see them quite often in horde lists.
You can also take them as HQ's
If you are talking 6 units of gaunts vs 6 units of boyz it's about on par, depending on who gets to shoot first
You can have a horde army build out of stealers too. It's a smaller horde, but it's still a horde army, unless you don't consider 120 stealers to be a horde?

yeah, I was thinking of something else. You can have 20 stealers in a squad? I thought it was up to 10.

LoL what edition do you play? no one runs horms.
You will either see 5 tervigons and 90 termigants or a 120 genestealers with a swarmlord and Hive commander tyrant.

Sorry, I keep having flashbacks to the 4th codex. You know, when Nids actually hurt.
