Hey guys!

I'm currently making a DE army (1500 pts) and I've started to think about the background.
I'm painting them in dark blue and gold, which make them kinda egyptian-looking. I added some stuff from Tomb Kings to my models in order to increase that aspect, as well as a weapon for my Archon taken from a Tzeentch Champion.

The idea behind it is that my Archon (Atum'Raa) found this weapon in a raid with his Kabal (the Kabal of the Strigid Eye) when he was "only" a warrior. This weapon was, in fact, a possessed weapon (which can be represented by a Djinn Blade in the Dark Eldar weapons) through which Tzeentch saw Atum'Raa's craving for power. The daemon god secretly helped him to kill his Kabal's archon and take his place, in order to have a pawn amongst Slaanesh' soul supply. Slowly but surely, the Kabal of the Strigid Eye got manipulated by the Lord of Change.

Do you think it would be "right"?
The DE don't have any trained psyker after all, but like the Eldar, they all have latent psychic potential, so they still can be manipulated by Tzeentch, right? I'm not sure about it.

Not sure how that affects your story...
Just have the 'warrior' strike a bargain with Tzeentch that he thinks he can break out of but Tzeentch doesn't however neither of them know what is up the other ones' sleeve since Tzeentch is Tzeencth and the DE is a carefully cunning little bugger.

Oops sorry! I read somewhere all Eldars were latent psykers. the dark eldar have given up the use of psychic powers... but could they still have some psychic "sensitivity"? After all, the whole "eating souls" thing kinda look "psychic" too...

It could work; in fact, maybe you could tie it into Slaanesh thirsting on souls. Part of the deal could be that Tzeentch keeps the soul away from Slaanesh, but what Atum'Raa doesn't know is that Tzeentch himself plans on eating the guy's soul.

Overall, the background sounds good. Its a new idea that doesn't seem to violate any existing canon (as far as I'm aware of). And all Eldar have some psychic presence and it varies from Eldar to Eldar. The average Eldar has a lot more psychic presence and is more likely to have psychic powers than a human however.
