Hey guys !

I just started today the painting of my new Dark Eldar army, the Kabal of the Strigid Eye, which background is a little weird.

Fluff :
Spoiler:
The idea behind it is that my Archon (Atum'Raa) found this weapon in a raid with his Kabal (the Kabal of the Strigid Eye) when he was "only" a warrior. This weapon was, in fact, owned by a Thousand Sons sorcerer through which Tzeentch saw Atum'Raa's craving for power. The daemon god orderer his puppet to stop just before killing Atum'Raa, and offered him a bargain. In exchange of staying alive and gaining power and influence, Atum'Raa would just have to keep that blade with him all the time, a deal he - of course - accepted. Tzeentch secretly helped him to kill his Kabal's archon and take his place, in order to have a pawn amongst Slaanesh' soul supply. Slowly but surely, the Kabal of the Strigid Eye got manipulated by the Lord of Change. Atum'Raa think he is now far from the danger of getting his soul eaten by Slaanesh - what he doesn't know is that Tzeentch also has an insatiable hunger.

Sooo here is the first picture, the two models I painted today.

It's my first try about my army's color scheme and I kinda like it for the moment.
The haemonculus is an old haemon model "converted" with tyranid arms and old skin capes from Warhammer Fantasy !
I'll have to improve my highlights a lot, though...
The blue is made this way : enchanted blue -> black wash -> 50/50 enchanted blue/hawk turquoise -> ice blue highlights.
Any recommandations ?

Thanks in advance!

Great start! I would probaly do another black or blue wash to blend the colours and shade it a bit more

Will be watching this!!

"Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

Thank you ! A wash will probably help, I agree.. it's still a little too "shiny" ! New pictures soon (:

Nice colour scheme, very tzeentchian; I like the glowing eyes.

If you allow me a criticism, I'd say the tyranid arms you've used are too big for your haemonculus. The length is right, but there's no elbow and the size of the hands/claws is nearly the same as its torso. If you have the opportunity to change them for WHFB Dryads arms I think it might look better (but of course it's just a suggestion of improvement, your model is already cool)

Thanks a lot Hyenajoe !

I'll try to find a WHFB dryad for that, you're right ! I wanted it to look really weird and monstrous, like if Tzeentch's influence made haemy's work even more "unnatural"... But in the end it's too much. So I'll try with dryads arms, thanks for that recommandation it helps a lot !
