I decided to finish painting my Crimson Fists Razorbacks and make assault marines to make my Blood Angel Army for this tournament on October 22nd 2011. It was the second annual and had 36 people show up. The only army not represented was Sisters of Battle. Every other was there.
It was a tournament that would award Best Overall, Best General, Best Painted and Best Sportsman. I was going after Best General since my painting isnt that great.

Round One- vs Orks
Mission:
Capture stuff and kill the enemy.
Objectives:
Seize Ground and Annihilation. Place one objective in the center of the table. If terrain placement makes it impossible to place it in the exact center, it should be placed on the centerline between the two players as close to the center between the short table edges as possible. After deployment, place one objective in the center of both of the unoccupied table quarters. The main goal of this mission is to capture these objectives. Each objective is worth five Kill Points.

After I lost the 1st Match I knew I needed full Battle Points in the next round if I wanted a shot of placing in the top 5.

Round 2- Tau Empire
Mission:
Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their significant others...
Objective:
Annihilation as outlined on p. 91 of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. Marked for Destruction: BEFORE DEPLOYMENT select one enemy non-dedicated transport unit to be Marked for Destruction. Write it down here: You will receive bonus Battle Points as outlined below for destroying that unit during the course of the game. If the unit splits at any point during the game(for example Combat Squads) then BOTH portions must be destroyed in order to earn the bonus points.
Deployment:
Modified Pitched Battle. Players roll of and winner chooses to go first or second. Player who goes first chooses deployment zone. Players deploy on long table edges, up to 15” in from the edge.

His list

Commander
3 Crisis Suit Bodyguards
2 Drones

3 Crisis Suits Missile Pod; Plasma Rifle
2 Drones

3 Broodside Suits
2 Drones

15 Fire Warriors
Drone

15 Fire Warriors
Drone

15 Fire Warriors
Drone

15 Fire Warriors
Drone

6 Stealth Suits

So no vehicles and barely any anti tank. We both knew he was gonna have a hard time and he kept saying he knew he wasnt gonna win and that he was there for fun. His army wasnt fully painted either. I chose his Commander Squad as my marked unit since it would give me 4 bonus points if i killed it. He chose my priest. Turn 1 I win the roll and go 1st.

After 2 rounds of tough losses, the pressure is off and im ready to have the most fun in the last round. I faced off against Jon from Team Zero Comp.

Round 3

Mission:
Find the most valuable Archeotech Hoard
Objective:
Seize Ground. Place one objective in the center of the table. Take two more objectives and place one each in the two unoccupied table quarters. Each player then takes three slips of paper, and divides a total of ten points between them, writing down the point values on each paper, taking care to hide the numbers from his opponent. Players may divide up the points any way they wish. Players then alternate putting pieces of paper under the objective markers. Neither player may place more than one paper under a single objective, so when all papers are placed, each marker has two slips under it with the values hidden. The mission is to capture as many objectives worth as many points as possible, while denying points to the enemy. The combined value of the objective is kept secret UNTIL THE GAME ENDS.
Deployment:
Spearhead Deployment, roll off to see who goes first. Winner may choose to go first or second. Player who goes first chooses table quarter to deploy in AND deploys first. Terrain is predetermined.

His List: Blood Angels
Mephiston
Librarian Dreadnought, Might of Heroes; Fear of the Darkness

Assault Squad

Typo? 12 is max. squad size (14 if you include two drones).

Heh, tough luck there. His army was a rarity, low-KP Tau army.

Mr Vetock, give back my Multi-tracker!

Oh yeah I guess it was 12 Fire warriors and some drones. It was an uphill battle for him the whole time. I just didnt notice how many kill points i lost and since he only had less than 10 models at the end of the game I thought i was winning. he was shocked that he won the game.

Always painful to lose that way, thats why its a really good idea to always keep a tally going in KP games (especially in tournaments!) It also helps out incase the other guy starts putting away models and then tries to get you to "recalculate" the KPs he lost

Thank you.. I really liked my army list and it looks very awesome. I would just like to be able to play more often and next time pay closer attention to the mission scenarios. Going into 2 kill point missions i knew i was gonna have a hard time with a 19 kp army. I had alot of fun making the battle reports and i hope you guys were able to enjoy them.
