According to the C:SM entry on Command Squads, the Fire Lords chapter have a unique member of the squads called the Pyre Warden. It doesn't go into any more detail, and there's no information anywhere else, but I was wondering whether anyone could think of some potential duties and abilities of a Pyre Warden? This is a purely opinion-based question, as they haven't been mentioned at all apart from in the one instance I refer to.

Sounds like an apothecary with ritual duties - remove the geneseed from the dead and preside over a ceremonial body-disposal in a pyre. Maybe.

A warden is an officer how has custody or care over an institution, a pyre is erected for funeral rights. I reckon that giving the volatile nature of the Fire Lords Geneseed, they are most likely Apothecaries as astrocat has said

See if you could find some Legion of the Damned shoulderpads, the ones with the raised flames. That would be cool. You know, just using Legion of the Damned figs in general for this would probably rock socks.

I was planning on including some in the army anyway- maybe as Veterans- but yeah, that could work. With an apothecary arm?

Coming back to this, I had the bright idea that the Pyre Wardens could be an Apothecary/Chaplain combination of sorts, but then I read Legion of the Damned. The Fire Lords character in it was described as a "Chaplain"; would it be viable that the main character was unaware of the Pyre Wardens' role, and described him as a Chaplain because he basically was one?

I haven't read the book, but it sounds plausible to me.
