Following up on my initial thoughts while watching the Necron teaser trailer I've come up with some rules for feilding Borg drones in 40K!
All comments, additions etc welcomed!!

Borg drone stats:
WS 3; BS 3; S 4; T 4; W 1; A 1; I 1; Ld -; Sv 6
Slow & purposeful, relentless, fearless, feel no pain, deep strike - all Borg can deep strike no matter the senario.
Borg shields: From the 2nd turn onwards the Borg gain a 6+ invaunrable save which gets better by 1+ every turn as the Borg adapt to the enemy guns.
Units: 10 Borg drones per unit @ 200 points a unit.

Weapons
CCW with rending*
* on a role to wound of a '6', instead of inflicting a wound with no saves, the model has been infected with nanites!
From the following turn, the model becomes a Borg drone with all the abilities listed above, except for the Borg sheilds.
The model drops all hand-held weapons (ie ranged weapons, power swords etc) but they keep any in0built weapons, such as power fists & servo harnesses.

Against montrous creatures, the beast is able to fight the infection for D3 turns.
While trying to fight off the nanites it's weapon skill is halved, it's initiative goes done to 1 and it's movement is reduced to 2" with no fleet allowed - the model may only defend itself from CC attacks during this period.
On the final turn of the D3 infection time, roll a dice. On a 4+, the creature has managed to pruge itself of the infection and returns to normal. On anything else it has failed & becomes a (really large) drone!
Additional infections (6's on a roll to wound) are ignored during the infection period but any other wounds are inflicted as normal.
Also, as the model may become a drone, freindly models may attack the beast - better to put it out of its misery rather than risk it becoming Borg!

When a glancing hit is achieved on a vehicle, don't roll on the normal table. Instead 1-4 means the vehicle is fine - the attack failed. On a 5 or 6, the vehicle has been infected!
It becomes totally imobile - ie not only can it not move, it can't fire it's weapons either!
The vehicle counts as destroyed but leave it where it is.
If the vehicle has 'machine spirit', deamon possesion' spirit stones etc then these will try & purge the nanites too.
At the beginning of every following turn, the vehicle's owner rolls a dice - on a 6 the machine has managed to beat off the nanites' attack.
If a techmarine or techpriest tries to 'repair' the vehicle, then a 5 or 6 is needed. HOWEVER if he rolls a 1 then he becomes a drone instead, as the nanites have crossed from the vehicle in to him!!

'Nids
Special case - when a synapse creature is infected the nanites reconise that another species is trying to create a collective - this can not happen!!
The nanites go in to a frenzy and attack the 'Nid from the inside. The 'Nid looses D3 wounds a turn until dead.
As the nanites arn't trying to turn it in to a drone, the 'Nid can act as normal (while dying) with the exception that it is now subject to 'frenzy or rage' (can't remember which one means that it has to try & get in to CC every turn - please correct me!!).

So thems the basics - not tried them yet.
Also can't remember if drones carried guns, either normal or heavy.
Can some Trekkies please chip in?

I could also come up with rules for some sort of transport model with a gun (& shields!!)

What do you think??

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

on the forum. Obviously

I think these are a lot of complicated rules for just one unit. Try streamlining them a bit.

I always thought of Necrons as 40k Borg. A lot of their rules could be "adapted" to work well as a org-Themed army.

I woudl wait and look at the new codex and use that as a basis for your Borg army.

And post pics if you make the models could be nice!
