I saw this airbrush on Ebay and it seems like a good deal but a little too good; has anybody ever tried it?

I have that particular airbrush, and its pretty decent, good control and flow...

However, that compressor looks absolutely crap... never used one though so couldn't really say. But ideally you want one with a tank

I think this quote from the ebay listing should answer your question:

"One Air Filter and one Air Brush Holder can help you to make better spraying conveniently for Free Gift!!"

Do you have examples of stuff you did with the airbrush?

and what happens if I got cheap on a air compressor?

Also what do you mean by tank? do you mean the canister air brush?

I have that airbrush and it works fine and dandy.

It's not the best quality ever and I wouldn't use it for artwork, but for painting tanks and quickly undercoating models it's great.

The compressor looks like junk, though. In my opinion it's far better to get a quality compressor and a poor airbrush than vice versa.

With an awesome quality compressor and that exact airbrush I do stuff like this:

If you can wait a while and save up, I hear good things about these ebay deals:

Cheap doesn't matter. I paid $50 for my pancake air compressor and it's perfect.

Compressor:

What's meant by a tank is that it can store pressurized air, rather than having to constantly pump. Charge the compressor up to, say, 100psi, turn it off. Set regulator to, oh, 20psi, and (with an airbrush) you can paint for quite awhile, depending on the size of the tank.

My Pancake air compressor is a 1 gallon tank, goes to 110psi max, and when I'm airbrushing, it lasts a long time. The damn thing is noisy as hell, but it works great.

NOTE: Be sure to invest in an pressure regulator and a moisture trap if the compressor doesn't include them. Regulator because too much pressure splatters the paint, which is bad. Moisture trap because splattering drops of water into nearby wet paint is also bad.

Regulator/Moisture Trap:

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?
