Anyone ever tried the "Hot Stuff" super glue?
I can order this from a distributor at work but it's damn expensive so I was wondering if it was worth the price.
Like 22.00$ for a 2oz bottle and 30.00$ for a 200ml bottle of activator.
It says on the website where I'd order it that it's like the best glue ever made:
"Positively the finest gluing system developed to date!"
Also, do you guys prefer using a thin, medium of thick super glue? Or a gel one?
I'd be using the glue mainly for Warmachine models.
Thanks

I use different thicknesses for different jobs:
1. Thick for gap filling and general assembly
2. Thin for flocking/texturing bases, gluing chain into a set position/shape (doesnt gunk up the links like thicker glues) and getting glue into places tat are hard to reach
etc.
That being said I have never heard of nor used the glue you mention...

It's $10 on Amazon, or $9 in-store in hobby lobby. Not an unreasonable price, as my preferred Loc-tite gel is $5-6 for 1oz.

How do you like that Loc-Tite glue? I use the Gorilla Super Glue and have had great results though you have to learn the right amounts. You can use too much real easy. And to the OP I have never used or heard of the glue you mentioned. Never hurts to try new stuff. I bought the Gorilla Glue on a whim and have never looked back.

I used Loc-tite until I discovered "Super Glue" brand Super Glue (from Home Depot).
I used that until I discovered Gorilla Glue brand super glue. I do not see myself ever changing. It's the best I've ever used (IMO).
I prefer thin to medium glue. No thick and NEVER gel.
Never heard of "Hot Stuff" brand.

I use the Loc-tite Ultra Control Gel and love it. Works the same as liquids and has better gap filling quality.

+1. The Loctite Ultra Gel rocks. Seems to have just the right open time to get it set before it dries and activator doesn't make it brittle.

Never heard of the brand either but I'd recommend Gorilla superglue. Has the best consistency and dry times out of all the super glues I tried.
Bit OT but when you mentioned "Hot Stuff" it reminded me of the Simpsons episode where Homer takes Bart to the steel mill and turns out to be filled with gay workers. One guys walks along carrying a tub yelling "Hot Stuff coming through"

Is there a huge difference between the Gorilla glue and the Gorilla super glue?
When I went to Home-Depot, they only had the regular glue.

Not sure but I think the normal gorilla glue is a normal type of glue. Check their page here: http://www.gorillaglue.com/glues.aspx
The superglue that I use is the one with the blue cap. They also have a pin on the inside of the cap that will pop any dried glue at the tip when you cap the bottle. Ingenious design, I've never had a clog.

Yeah. Gorillla Glue is more of a thick... well... glue. lol It's not a "super glue" type.
To get what we're talking about, you have to actually get the Gorilla Glue Super Glue. I get mine at Lowes.
http://www.lowes.com/pd_389-18562-78056_0__?catalogId=10051&productId=3033016&UserSearch=gorilla+glue+super+glue&Ntt=gorilla+glue+super+glue&N=0&langId=-1&storeId=10151&rpp=24
It's a little pricey, but TOTALLY worth the money (coming from MY cheap * ss, that's saying something).

I like it a great deal, actually, for my gel slot. I also use some CA+ thin as well as testor's model cement. I swap back and forth depending on what I'm assembling. Generally though the Loc-Tite ultra gel is my go-to glue. Automatically Appended Next Post: Gorrath wrote:Is there a huge difference between the Gorilla glue and the Gorilla super glue?
Yes, an enormous one. Gorilla Glue is not appropriate for any model assembly applications. It's totally kickass for other stuff, though, like fixing a broken mug handle, or something like that. You have to wet both of the target surfaces, apply a tiny bit of glue, and then clamp it for x long - I think 2 hours but I don't remember. The glue expands to fill gaps as it dries. Very strong.
I also have Gorilla Super Glue, and it's more like normal super glue. Nice tip, doesn't clog easily.

+1 to the Loctite super glue gel. It's easier for my shaky hands to place the glue where I want it to go instead of the more "liquid" super glue that I tend to get everywhere.

Don't think we have Hot Stuff Glue in the UK.
I'm also another user of Lock-tite Ultra gel.
I also have tesco own brand super-market super glue. Its real cheap (£1 for 8 3g tubes) and is very liquid so suits that need.
But for me it really comes down to which one smells best.

Is there any reason not to take the Loctite Ultra Gel instead of the normal Loctite gel super glue?
