I'm having a little trouble with the GW Modelling Files, I've found that after shaving away some Green Stuff or General flash I'm left with teeth marks where the file has bitten in and left a horrible rough surface.

Are there any better alternatives to get a smooth finish?

Cheers

You could try running over it with fine sandpaper, or use the file again but just push veryyyy gently on the surface.

Yup, sounds like you're pushing down too hard with the file - needs to be done gently when you're in the final stages of filing.

Wrap fine grit sandpaper (used in automotive finishing) around the file. And use the file as a sanding block.

You see, to Auston, everyone is a Death Star; there's only one way you can take it and that's through a small gap at the back.

Emery board (like wot gurls use for their nails).
Also try buying needle files with a finer grain and using a wire brush to clean your files helps too.
Also don't press so hard.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
