2000 pt Eldar vs. Dark Eldar
Sorry forgot both my camera and camcorder. Was a very fun game, great player, fun to game with, very enjoyable game. Forgive me if I get the list of Dark Eldar wrong as I am not exactly sure of what everything was. This battle was fought at my local game club. I did not know exactly who I was going to battle with. Most of the players are Space Marines, especially Grey Knights, so I had based my army around Space Marines. It makes it fun to not know who you are going to be up against as you can not tailor your army to one faction. Had I known I was playing Dark Eldar I would have run a different list.
I know I normally write a mock story to go with my battle reports, however I can not think of a story where the Harlequins would fight with the Dark Eldar to fight the Eldar, as the Harlequins want to preserve the race as a whole or fight chaos and as Eldar despise Chaos, I can not think of why they would attack them. Sorry, just the battle report this time.

Game is Capture objectives which there are Four with Spearhead deployment. Dark Eldar win the roll off so they set up first. The board is set up as a city fortress, with the Fortress of Redemption in the center, Two Bastions are at diagonal opposite ends of the board. With two wrecked buildings on the opposite two corners. Various walls filled in the rest of the terrain with one bog on the upper right board towards the middle and in front of the wrecked building.
Dark Eldar placed the first objective just to the left of a high brick wall on the lower left hand side of the board. The Eldar set one in the rubble on the lower right hand side of the board. The second Dark Eldar objective was placed on the upper fortress wall mid-upper board. The second objective Eldar was placed on the lower board just to the right of a wall that was 1/4 of the way from midline.
The Dark Eldar set up with there Harlequins at the lower aspect of the fortress wall on their side of the board. The scourges were on the upper aspect of the fortress near the dark eldar 2nd objective. The Dark Eldar transports deploy just behind the Harlequins and Scourges, just to the right of each unit and the Ravager just behind the Harlequins and transport. The transport with the kabolites were camped on the Dark Eldar first objective, behind a wall preventing
LOS from the Eldar side. The three Fire Prisms hid behind the Bastion on their side in the lower right corner. The two Wave Serpents were placed just above the Bastion side by side with the Fire Dragons embarked. The Seer Council with Autarch were placed to the right of the serpents and a pile of rubble to provide cover. The Guardian Jetbikes were held in reserve. The Eldar attempted to steal the initiative, but stealing is best left to their dark cousins and they fail in their attempt.
The first turn of the Dark Eldar, sees the Harlequins make it up to the fortress wall and up into the ramparts. The Scourges are similar, except that they jump past the fortress, except for 4 which pass their dangerous terrain tests. The Ravager pops out and advances to take a shot at the Prisms. The transports turbo boost to take up hiding spots behind the wall on the Eldar lower side, between the fortress and a wall. The Razorwings fly over from behind the upper fortress to just to the right of the bog and just before wrecked building. The first Razorwing made the upper Wave Serpent not be able to shoot next turn. The second Razorwing shot into the Seer Council and killed one of the Warlocks prior to their nice fortune.
The first Eldar turn, the shaken Wave Serpent turbo boosted behind the cover of the wrecked building. The second Wave serpent went head on with the Razorwings and shot at them making the second Razorwing not be able to move or shoot for a turn. The Fire Prisms did a lot of shooting but failed to land a hit on the Ravager and the first Razorwing. The Seer Council and Autarch fortuned, but periled (rolled 3 sixes), but saved with the Farseer's helm. They turbo boosted towards the Razorwings.
The Dark Eldar moved the Razorwing forward 12" towards the Eldar objectives but in front of the Wave Serpent that had charged it in the previous turn. The Razorwing managed to make one of the Fire Prisms not able to shoot next turn. The Ravager wrecked the lower most Fire Prism, the Holo-fields not managing to save the tank (rolled a 5 and 6). The scourges manage to kill a warlock from the seer council. The Harlequins secure their position in the fortress wall ramparts. The wyches move in behind the Ravager. Lelith and her squad stay behind the wall next to the Archon's transport.
The Eldar turn 2 sees the Seers Fortuned and Lelith's squad become doomed. The two seers that have destructor multi shoot into the transport and the Scourges, killing all the scourges and exploding the transport killing 4 of the squad. The Seer council then assaulted and the Autarch managed to put a wound on Lelith and unfortunately only three of the warlocks could make assault, the Farseer and rest of the Warlocks could not assault. The Warlocks killed two more of the squad. Lelith failed her leadership test, but thanks to the trophies on the transports which she was within 6" of managed to save on the re-roll. The wave serpent moved towards the stunned Razorwing and dumped out its cargo of Fire Dragons. The Wave Serpent failed to do damage to the vehicle, however the fire dragons immobilized the Razorwing and stunned it again, but rolled a high number of 1's it is the Eldar luck with my dice. The one Fire Prism that can shoot fails to damage the Ravager. The Fire Prism that could not shoot, moved flat out towards the upper right hand side of the board. The second Wave Serpent tried to shoot the 1st Razorwing but it managed to only get a can't shoot roll. The reserves did not come in as they were busy sipping Eldar Chai Tea.
Dark Eldar Turn 3, the Harlequins decide to join the
CC between the seer council and Lelith. The Archon's transport landed on the Fortress Upper wall and made the difficult terrain test. They disembarked but rolled 3, then 2 on the charge and so many were not in
CC this close combat phase. The Archon made base with the Autarch, but failed to wound. The Dark Eldar mass assault manages to kill two jet bikes. However the Eldar
CC, managed to kill all of Lelith's squad but Lelith and she failed her leadership twice and was cut down. two harlequins were killed and one of the Archon's squad took a wound but had two - not sure who that was. The Razorwing that could move moved up towards the objective # 1 Eldar. The Ravager and the transport with wyches moved to surround the 2nd Eldar objective. The Wyche's transport was next to the wall making them within 3 " of the 2nd Eldar objective. The Archon Transport went to the upper edge of the board just above the Fortress and fired at one of the Serpents but failed to do anything. The Ravager took the twin linked Star Cannons off the other Serpent.
Turn 3 Eldar - one of the jetbikes units came on and they turbo boosted towards the 2nd Eldar objective like an idiot, because they forgot that Dark Eldar can disembark and assault the same turn it moves. The two fire prisms fail to do anything. The one weapon Serpent tries to do something to the Ravager and fails utterly. The Serpent with all weapons manages to move up to the Archon transport and wreck it. The disembarked Fire Dragons finish off the immobilized Razorwing making it explode, but not hurting any of them in return. The
CC caused a tie combat - 1 warlock killed one harlequin.
Turn 4 Dark Eldar - The Ravager and Razorwing shoot at Fire Prisms making one so it can not shoot next turn. The transport for the wyches moves the wyches got out and basically laid the smack down on the Eldar jetbikes. I do hope the rumors are true that speed will be take into account with
CC in the 6th Edition. They then consolidated towards the 2nd Eldar objective. In
CC with the Seer Council and the Archon's group lost three and the Harlequins were whittled to a last trouper, shadowseer and troupe master. The seer council was whittled down to a Warlock with destructor and the Farseer and Autarch with no wounds taken. The Harlequins made their leadership test and the Archon failed it twice and ran away with his squad of bodyguards tucked between his legs.
Turn 4 - Eldar, the Fire Dragons wreck the other Razorwing. The Fire Prism that can not fire gets into position to challenge an objective (Eldar #2 and Dark Eldar #1). The Serpent with the top weapon missing deposited its Fire Dragons just to the right of the 2nd Eldar objective. The Seer Council finished off the Harlequin troupe and consolidated towards the Archon and Guard to keep them running. The second jetbike squad comes in a little more cautious to snipe at the Wyches and then in the assault move behind the Bastion. The shots from a fire prism killed 2 wyches, the bike squad killed 1 and the fire dragons managed to kill 3. The wyches made there leadership test unfortunately. The other Fire Prism scattered off the Ravager and kill 1 Fire Dragon.
Turn 5 Dark Eldar - The Archon and his Retinue continue to fall back towards their table edge. The Ravager, who is destroys the Wave Serpent near the 2nd Eldar objectives killing one Fire Dragon in the explosion. The Wych transport fails to do anything to the 2nf Fire Prism. The Wyches assault the Fire Dragons and gain another pain token.
Turn 5 Eldar - The Seer Council turbo boosts to contest the objective covered by the Kabolytes on Dark Eldar Objective #2. The intact Wave Serpent killed 3 from the Archon squad and closed on their location. The guardian jetbike squad tried to take out the Ravager and secure the objective with the help of one of the Fire Prisms, but failed to take it out. The second Fire Prism tank shocked the wyches, who passed their leadership test and they moved out of the way. The dice roll of 1 means the game ends after turn 5. All the objectives were contested, when it went to kill points the Eldar won 10 kill points to the Dark Eldar 4 points.
It was a great game. Thanks.
