I'm new to 40k and don't know much about tactics or lists so what i have is;

11 tac marines
5 devastators
1 Bike
1 scout bike
command squad
3 servitors
captain

also could someone give me some advice on what to get next?

Staying on target.....

There are a couple of things you need for sure next:

Another tactical squad
Rhino's for your tactical squad

After that it's preference on what you want your army based around, any ideas??

So here's a basic list then, 1k to start off with:

Librarian with Gate and MoA (100)

2x 10 man Tac squad with MG, ML, PF and rhino (470)

6 scouts with CCW's (78)

ACHB Predator (100)
ACLC Predator (130)

2x Land speeder with MM (120)

Just under 1000pts there, though they may be a little off, I haven't got my codex on me. I've also tried to split it the way you wanted with your choices though really thats the best way to split a low point army imo.

The librarian is the only viable choice at this level so he's a must. The tactical squads split into two five mans and the PF and MG's go in the rhinos while ML half sits back and unleashes. Attach your librarian to one of the rhino squads.The scouts are just an extra scoring unit really, outflank can be handy for harrasing your opponents objective and sometimes can shine in combat (I have held my own against a dreadknight once!! Don't ask how cos I don't know!! ). The predators are there for the firepower, between the two you get 6 S5, 4 S7 and 2 S9 shots so with these you can pretty much multitask them. The land speeders are your tank hunters but also you can keep them back and go contest objectives at the last minute with their boost movement.

I haven't included any bikes you have because unfortunately they just arent worth it however your devastators, depending on what they are equipped with could maybe swap with a predator though then you give up armour saturation. Also SM captains arent brilliant hence I haven't included him neither.

However I'd say the scouts serve no function in this list. Also the Libby has no where to go. Here a couple of ideas:

Librarian with Nullzone, Avenger (100)

5 Sternguard: Powerfist, 4 Combimeltas, Heavy flamer, in Razorback (220)

2x 10 man Tac squads with Combi-melta, meltagun, Missile Launcher in rhinos (440)

This is a midfield shooting army with the Preds hanging back for fire support. Libby goes with the sternguard, giving that squad frightening anti-infantry and anti-tank fire. Adding combi-weapons so the Tac-squads doubles their combat effectiveness for 10 points and is effectively a compulsory purchase (as are Rhinos). The Predator gets you more firepower for less points than the Devastators and with greater survivability. You could switch one if the tac squads to have a flamer (and then a combi-flamer for the sergeant) if you want more horde control or you could swap the 2 preds with autocannon and 2 Lascannons for 3 preds with autocannon and 2 heavy bolters though you'd have to find 15 points somewhere (best place would be the powerfist on the Sternguard). So something like this:

5 Sternguard: 2 Combi-meltas, 2 Combi-plasmas, Heavy flamer, in Razorback (195)

10 man Tac squad with Combi-melta, meltagun, Missile Launcher in rhino (220)

Actually I think I like the 2nd list better (though it's boned against Mechdar). You've got 3 AV11 shells and 3 AV13 shells for really good target saturation at this points level. You've got a tac-squad that can hunt tanks and one that can annihilate hordes. With fire support coming from the Sternguard which can either melta a tank with 3 elta shots, flame a horde with 2 S5 templates and rapidfiring dragonfire rounds all of which ignores cover. Then Nullzone and rapidfiring plasma and melta shots to take down stormshield Terminators. With Hellfire and Nullzone for dealing with Seer councils. With those 3 tanks pumping out 8 shots a turn each at 48"

I'd use Fling's 2nd list, but change the Razorback on the Sternguard to be a Rhino. They want that safety from the hatch.

Hi,

so lets look what you have here in your own marine´s chapter. You can find some good lists all around in this forum, but I´ll try to build a list from models you have got. 11 marines, dont know what is they gear, but I see 5 devs, so 1 thing is to integrated your devs into tac squad, missile launcher and MM will be good as heavy choises for your tacs and buy 5 more marines, I think it is combat squad in GW shop, so you can build 2 full tac squads for good money, or use devs as heavy choise in your FOC, then is good to buy whole tac squad 10men strong.

Captain is good as HQ if you give him bike relic blade and artif armor. Commad squad is expensive in small army lists, maybe you can use them as proxi sterns veterans as elites.

Buy a transports for your tac is realy a must for SM tac squads. Buy a razorback box, so you can have rhino or razorback.

Servitors alone are useless, so if you want use them MotF is good choise as HQ for them.

You realy need some heavy support or elites. As heavy, Predator IMO is one of the best option for heavy slots in your army, so start with it, you can load him with anti tank weapons or anti troops.
