Another shout out to players who would like to meet up for games inside the beltway. As you may know its near impossible to get anywhere outside the beltway in time to throw down on a weekday. Hell, weekends aren't much better. I would like to see what gamers are housed inside the beltway that can navigate backroads and meet to play some 40k on weekends and weekdays. Inside the beltway there are pretty much 2 shops. Victory Comics and Complete Strategist. Both are within a mile of each other in the city of Falls Church. Victory probably has the best set up for 40k with 3 table and a bookshelf of terrain. Complete Strategist has better selection of 40k and fantasy on the shelves but a limited area for wargames (tables and scenery in the back which need to get pulled out). Both places can get swarmed with Magic players. I have talked to both the owners and they are all for building the wargaming community. I'm also down to meet and play and have been building a nice home set up. Finished stapling the gamer felt on a 4 x 6 table top. Anyone that's down to pull back some cold ones and game it let me know. Just need the players.
SO SHOUT OUT to all the innerloop gamers, lets thrive.

used to go to victory comics but I'm way to busy these days. One suggestion I have for you is ask Josh a manager at victory comics for the names of some of the guys who play there. maybe a half dozen or so who are usually up for a game maybe drop your contact info on a sign in sheet or something

Im on the list. Not much activity from the group. Is time of the essence for innerloop gamers? Cant figure it out why inside the beltway is so dead compared to outside.

I'm in Vienna and I can actually get to Victory Comics during the week. The problem is that it closes at 6pm most weekdays and on it's 'late' night (Wednesday) it's open to 9 and is full of magic/malifaux/heroclix. It would need it's own dedicated night during the week.
If a club or gaming night starts up, somebody let know. I hardly ever look in this forum, it was just luck that it was the last post when I was browsing the main

I'm working it and count you in. I jump on here all the time and just recently noticed the lack of innerloop support. Good to know your close. Send me a message if you would like to get a few casual games going in the meantime. You definitely crush me at painting those models are awesome. I would always like to paint better but will always have a greater passion for throwing the dice.
Id like to have a solid inner loop crew and one day take on the outerloop gamers in a battle of the beltway.

Hi all,
I'm new to the area, specifically Arlington, as well as new to Dakka. After a bit of a hiatus I have been getting back into modeling and painting in a big way, and would love to get some 40k gaming in at stores or private residences (I'm a big fan of beer). I'm planning to get my own gaming table built in the near future, but it could be a while yet. I'm a pretty laid-back player who is a lot more concerned with having a fun, friendly game than with winning or nitpicking over rules.
I've also a got a decent collection of board games going, both new and old.

I haven't actually met anyone from the Beltway gamers group, it's more of a Maryland thing, so kind of trek from Annandale, where I live. But from my time on the forums, I can tell you that if you're dying to get a game in, these guys can make it happen.
I have met some of the guys from Bunker 8308 though, and they are pretty cool. Paint night is every Wednesday in Annandale, but sometimes they play a game or two instead. Email Jeremy (the organizer) for the address. Check it out, I doubt you'll be dissapointed!

And I really can't understand that! It seems like there are enough people who have that same complaint, and live in NoVa like us, that we would be able to get a few games together!

I know, I totally agree. I'm pretty new to the hobby and when I did the searching for local games, all I found were some old posts about Victory Comics in Falls Church. The rest were directed out west or to Beltway Gamers, never to be heard from again.

Well I highly recommend you give the Bunker 8308 a try, apparently there is going to be a big crowd at tomorrow's paint night, five people have already RSVP'd, but usually some more than that will show up too. Wednesday are never a good day for me, so I haven't been too many time, but I'm really going to try and make it out tomorrow...

Im with Beltway Gamers and I can tell you that the we have a ton of members looking to get games in VA but within the beltway. The problem is venue. There is a severe lack of a decent venue close in.
If you get on the forum www.betlway-gamers.com I am sureyou will be able to set up a game at someones place or the bethesda area wed, thurs, or weekend.
Inner Loop VA has a severe shortage of places to play.

I have spoken to the guys at hobby works. They are really trying to get there 40k games running strong. Try and get on their mailing list. Its not to far out of the beltway. Tournament coming at the end of this month. And a solid discount on game day....
Let me know if i need to create an inner loop gamers site for us on the inside.

Brothernoah,
That sounds great. You can feel free to just add onto the Beltway-Gamers site if you like. It already has a large VA following and over 150 people regularly checking it. Many of our members are looking for a VA store that posts events on the site so it sounds like a good mix.

Inner beltway resident here (NW DC). I'm seriously considering getting into 40k, but would like the opporunity to view a few games (preferably within the beltway) and ask some questions before I make the financial commitment. I do have access to a car, so outer beltway games are a possibility on the weekends. I would appreciate any invites.
