Hey there, New to the bord. I've got a question to everyone who care give it an answer.

Really awesome miniature that I hope we can see finished one day.

Now my question is based on both the picture, the comments to that picture and what information I have been able to find elsewhere:
How do the Emperor look like ten miliinia after being sat in the golden throne?
I know that he is basically a corps, but does that mean he's more of a skeleton, or more of a mummy in apperance?
I know that SM chaplains have their "skull & ribs" armor on to imitate the emperor, but you would still be able to see the bones under the skin clearly if the flesh have had millinia to dry up.

Also, what kind of wounds would he have? All I can find is that his body was "broken" after his battle with Horus.

One of the reasons why I ask is becaurse the image above have inspired me to try and sculpt Him on the throne, so wanna be accurate.

So anything from corpselike to very almost dead guy like.

Well to be a mummy they would have had to wrap him up...
He might simply look like a well preserved corpse if that's what you mean.

All we have is artists' representations, there's been no in-universe description of the Emperor's current form in the 41st millennium.

@ purplefood: Yeah, means preserved body. Though I've always head it as "Mumification", even if you don't wrap up the body, hence the mummy-comment.

So his wounds are one arm rippen off, the other one broken?

I have seen pleny of pictures of him on the throne, but I haven't found any colelctive description of his state. Hence why I'm asking, since I've not read novels like Dark Millinium and the like :/

I don't think he looks like a mummy at all. It would be safer to say that he looks more like a corpse. He's essentially dead for all intents and purposes. I'm not sure if you've played Metal Gear Solid 4, but they kept Solidus Snake "alive" by hooking him up to some machines even though he was technically already dead. I forgot what the term for this was, but essentially that's what the Emperor is.

Try lestat after being burned then put into the swamp.

Never played MGS4, But essensally, like a corps, but not rotten?

SO, lost an arm, broke another, burnt horribly and possibly a wound in his chest? Still, I see alot of art protraying his face as a skull. Is that a written fact, or did the artists just use their artistic liberty?

I like to think that his body is dead but the cells that are remaining are kept alive by the golden throne (though his body isnt alive)

false image. IoM misleading us all. They don't want it known the Emperor is getting massage by scantily clad jaw dropping (FAP FAP FAP) females that break a mans neck when they walk by. Who 24/7 rub high priced skin lotion all over his body and ensure he keeps a good balance of fluid in his system.....

I can see the emporer looking liek a mummy/skeleton or looking almost the compelte opposite and looking something like a great unclean one. After a 1000 years of sitting still and rotting, it seems that the emperor could be very bloated and rotted/rotting.

I would think somewhere they describe the fight between horus and him. So just check the horus heresy novels. As for modeling the injures, I would think between the age, augmentation and the machines hooked to him you probably wouldt be able to see them

There are two possibilities. Either he's a corpse, his last cells just clinging to life, lots of cybernetics, or he's emitting an image if himself in his full glory, as a symbolic gesture to fool those who look upon him. Ad for his injuries, well, his arm was ripped off, his other wrist broken, his back broken, and his face burnt until on of his eyes was destroyed.

Yeah Solidus was brain dead, but he looked rather similar to how the Emperor does in the art that depicts him. If the Emperor's body is essentially dead except for a few cells then how is he not brain dead?

He is still alive, his mind is what focuses the astronomicon. He has also had limited contact with some of his servants.

Alright, thanks for the help everyone. I onle have one question left about his current apperance on the throne.
Do any of the novels or the like descripe what he waers? From the wounds iproxtaco mentions it sounds like that his armor gor broken pretty badly. So is he clad in a new one (to keep him seated, considered that his back is broken, as I imagine is the case in this image http://i54.tinypic.com/nwhfkg.jpg ), Or is he closer resembled the other pictures out there, with no clothing on his upper body etc.

Again, if no novels mentions this, I guess that I'll be my pick then.

If they can do the million dollar man amidst budget cuts then yes...we can rebuild him.....and a dog if he wants one to...shepard kind.....still waiting on the selection of the billion dollar woman of his choice...

What if the corpse on the golden throne is really the Sigilite? And the idea of the Emperor still being alive is what is keeping the Empire together, when all along, he has been dead for 10,000 years and is about to be rediscovered? For all we know, Alpha Legion is calling the shots posing as the High Council of Terra and they are looking for the Emperor..... right now.

Well there is the other conspiracy theory that it has somehow been Horus the whole time.

The Gothic and the Eldrich artbook by Jes Goodwin has a really nice pic of the Emperor.

He has been described... His face is a skull and he is still breathing and has a heartbeat.

I have never heard of him having an arm cut off.... I know Abaddon ripped off Horus' arm (for the glove).

He was disemb... disembow... had his guts ripped out by Horus.

Anyone got the Inquisition war books? Can't remember if they had an actual description in there, but they do have a nice talk with the Emperor after sneaking into the palace.

Yep, but I don't remember them describing the Emperor. Just that his psychically projected voice was like bashing your head against the table for each syllable he spoke.
