First time post and I'm ebaying my old stuff so I can collect LOTR minis (apologies to those 40k fans)
I was going through my old minis and managed to cobble together all my harlequins (18, full set) but I have some old space marine sprues, and want some advice on value.
I have all 17 dark blue space marine sprues, with the following breakdown
8 basic marine set A sprues (two complete)
2 heavy weapons set B
7 set C close quarters sprues (one compete)
30 rounds bases
Most sprues are almost complete and if not i have the unpainted parts loose. Most sprues have one or two pieces loose.
Are these the first release of the space marines, and I wanted to know a ballpark value, or if was best to just hold onto them. The box in long gone.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

No idea sadly, find the right buyer and you could make a good chunk of change, but most people aren't quite going to get it methinks.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

There are some different colored plastic old school Marines floating out there, in this dark blue, green, and the official cream color that GW used at the time. I think they might be counterfeits from way way back when, but the ones I have look just fine. I don't recall GW using any plastics aside from the cream color and a few shades of grey like what they have now. You could probably get $40 for em, just ballparking.

2nd edition genestealers (which came from Space Crusade) were purple plastic, and they colour coded the Marines in Space Crusade to their chapters. This tradition was held through Space Hulk, even to the new edition, which has red plastic Terminators (blood angels) and purple genestealers.
Which makes me think his Space Marines might be from Space Crusade.

The Chaos Marines from Space Crusade were a dark navy colour, so it's possible they're Chaos Marines. I think the only real difference was horns on the helmet.
Having said that, the Space Crusade marines were all one piece models, and it looks like these have at least the legs separated from the torsos so they're unlikely to be Space Crusade.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I bought these from a GW reseller in the UK as soon as they come out, so they are definitely first edition and official.
They do not have the trademark stamp that was introduced later, so that helps date them.
They came in this box when I bought them.

I've seen a lot about the different colors available for the plastics, but these were definitely the first of the first that came out. Maybe different regions were different colors?
With that in mind, any further ideas?

Ahhh RTB01. The days when you bought 30 Space Marines, 2 Rhinos or 2 Land Raiders for 1/3 of what 10 Marines, 1 Rhino costs now. And 1/5 of what 1 Land Raider costs now.

The blue ones ARE legitimate GW models. Space marine (NOT CSM, as CSM didn't exist until "slaves to darkness" and "the lost and the damned".) The RTB001 minis came in green, blue and beige. Different production batches (all of a batch tend to be the same colour - it's how the machines work). I've got all three. The boxes were the same, it's just the plastic colour was different. GW had plastics made with whatever plastic colour was available at the time (they had their plastics subcontracted out to the company that used to do the plastic inserts for Matchbox cars for Lesney).
