Hey, i'm playing a DS BA army tomorrow, and a Nid army the day after. Any last minute changes would be very helpful; please note that this list is basically every guard model i own, so changes cannot be too drastic. Thank you in advance for C&C

HQ:
Lord Commissar: Camo Cloak = 80
Company Command Squad: Lascannon, 2 Plasmas, Officer of Fleet, Master of Ordinance = 160
Troops:
Infantry Platoon 1:
Platoon Command Squad: 2 Sniper Rifles = 40
Squad 1: Melta Gun, Melta Bombs, PW = 75
Squad 2: Melta Gun, Commissar: PW = 105
Heavy Support Squad: 3 Lascannons = 105
Heavy Support Squad: 3 Autocannons = 75
Infantry Platoon 2:
Platoon Command Squad: 4 GLs = 50
Squad 1: Flamer, Melta Bombs, PW, Commisar: PW = 115
Squad 2: Flamer, Melta Bombs, PW = 70
Heavy Support Squad: 3 Autocannons = 75
Fast Attack:
Scout Sentinel: Lascannon = 50


Everything Sits back, blobs protect HWS, Lord Commissar babysits LC team. Sentinel outflanks trying to get some side armor. Snipers are for MC hunting next game (i have to play with the same list in both games).

It seems a nice enough list if that's all you have. I'm going to recommend a few tweaks though.

the CCS could do with 4x plasma rather than the lascannon.

Sniper rifles on the PCS are pointless, they won't do anything. Give them heavy/special weapons. (autocannon would be my preferred choice)

In the blob squads swap the special weapons around so in essence each squad of 20 ends up with 1 melta and 1 flamer, otherwise it's much easier thinking for your opponent.

Lascannon HWS are generally considered overpriced, you will need to protect them. (good idea to give them stealth via the lord commissar).

The scout sentinel is achieving nothing, either give him a heavy flamer (for outflanking annoyingness) or drop it to get heavy weapons on the troops.

If you can fit some power swords in your blobs they would be a LOT more effective against the marines...

I have the LC in the CCS because of the BS 4, i figure it will serve me better there than in a PCS.

Mixing up the meltas and flamers is a good idea, i will definitely do that.

For right now, until i can get more models, i am using the Sentinel for a point filler basically, and it earned its points last time around. If you can think of a better way to spend the points without the addition of more models, please let me know i will gladly do it, i just simply cant think of anything.

I took out the snipers, i agree they arent worth their points, ii took both of them out, and one GL and added a plasma to my PCS.

I lost the BA game, however their were some game deciding rolls that went south for me, but it was also due to bad placement at the start. Simply put, i need to make some changes.

The CCS is fine, though the MoO is kinda to random. If you give the CCS 'Bring it Down!', it does allow you to re-roll the MoO. Otherwise I would drop him for Camo Cloaks.

Do not mix special weapons in a squad. The blobs should have melta guns anyway instead of flamers. Flamers are a offensive weapon so you can burn guys out of cover. Melta guns give you a weapon for any situation... terminators DS next to you? Melta guns have a better chance of taking one or two down then a flamer. Dread drop pod next to you? Melta gun. Power armor? Melta gun. It is also assault so you can fire it and still charge.

The one blob needs one more PW. The PCSs have empty special weapon slots. If your going to use Sniper Rifles in a PCS (which is fine with your plan), get 4 of them. I also like one AC and 2x Sniper Rifles to give them the option of transport attack. 4x Flamers or 3x Flamers and a Heavy Flamer gives you a anti-hoard element.

If you want to drop the Sentinel and keep the MoO, get Camo Cloaks for the CCS, a PW for the one blob, and upgrade the flamers to melta guns. That should give you enough points to get two more sniper rifles or a AC for your sniper PCS. If you also drop the MoO, get plasma pistols and melta bombs for your PCSs. You can even consider droping the GLs for the 4x Flamers or the 3x Flamers and heavy flamer load-out.

Keep your Sniper PCS within 12" of your CCS (as well as your HWSs) so you can give them 'Bring it Down!' for MCs if needed.

The MoO is a 30 point Basalisk, and i need at least one large template weapon (IMO) for the sake of hordes, or even marine squads. However i never thought to give him 'Bring It Down', thanks for that.

So if i put all meltas in the Blobs, do you think it could be effective to put snipers in one PCS and flamers in the second PCS? and take ut the GL's completely (they suck). To just go for both of them being anti-horde?

I hate to drop the sentinel, but if it's really that bad; i will.

I understand why you want the MoO, but just do not be shocked if you miss alot more than you hit. You also have to be careful with your blobs so you don't scatter into them.

As for your second list, I am not a fan of putting a Lascannon in a BS 3 squad. I would much rather have it in the CCS with BS 4. Also, you have to remember 'Bring it Down!' only works against MCs and vehicles, so your MoO has to target a vehicle, so you might as well have the LC fire on it too. This saves you 10pts.

The PCS should have a AC as it gives the BS 3 guy a effective 75% chance to hit with a single shot. This makes them much more effective, specially if the Order doesn't go off or you give the Orders to another unit. Since the CCS can only issue 2 Orders, the HWSs and the CCS itself are probably higher priority, depending on the targets.

Use the last 10pts saved from sacking the two plasma guns (30pts) for the LC (20pts) and get a AC for your Sniper Rifle squad,you have a total of 20pts to play with. You have a empty special weapon slot in your Flamer PCS, so I would get a Heavy Flamer and put it in there to /really/ make them effective.

I don't have another AC ATM, so for now i will just have to switch the Plasmas and the LC, I'll make all of those changes (Adding heavy flamer and such) once i get a few bucks for some Heavy Weapon teams. Also i didn't know that about 'Bring It Down' thanks for the heads up.
