So, I'm thinking about starting a Chaos Space Marine Army dedicated to Grandfather Nurgle. In the list that I wrote up I have 4 units of plague marines as troops, is this allowed? I ask because I am giving everything in my army the mark of Nurgle and it also otherwise conforms to the rules for fielding Death Guard. Does the fact that it accidentally conform mean that 2 of my plague marine choices are actually fast attack?

Get a codex, and read it.

I have a codex and I have been reading it. That is why I have the question. There was something in the codex that I read and I was not clear on it, so I am asking for clarification. If you do not have useful feedback please refrain from responding.

You have an old codex.
You need the current one:

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

You may well be playing the 3.5th edition codex. If Plague Marines are a discrete entry, with T4(5) and Feel No Pain, then you have the 4th edition codex and Plague Marines are basic troops, no matter what else you take

If you go here and the codex looks like the one you are using ,then al is good.
