Alright so apparently the majority of the tau rumors are true, however that being said some of them are either poorly worded, or just plain out wrong.

So I've decided to make this post in order to help use weed out the less believable ones.

So here we go

HQ units choose the troops: Apparently there's a force organization chart shuffle, that when you choose a certain HQ you get a certain selection of troops.
So here's what i gathered:
Crisis commanders: make crisis suits troops
Ethereals: make firewarriors troops choice
Shapers: make kroot troops
Demiurg HQ: makes Deimurg troops.

Here's my take on this:
For ethereals: it's not that normal firewarriors aren't troops, but he turns pathfinders and other tau infantry into troops (probably snipers as well)
For shapers: I think that this turns all kroot units into infantry (There is probably some kroot stuff in heavy support,fast attack, etc)


New allies:
Demiurg: Some kind of monstrous creature (It's some kind of golem)
Tallarian dog soldiers as elites
Gue'Vesa a troops choice



New tau units:
New tank
New xv series
Bunch of new characters
And forgeworld characters (and hopefully other models) become available




Wargear tweaks:
Some (if not all) special issue weapons and equipment become standard issue (although i heard that the shield generator can only be put on commanders)
Some kind of special issue power weapon
Cyclic Ion Blaster will count as rending, not ap1 on a six


Unit tweaks:
ethereal becomes less useless
Crisis suits are now 60 points with 3 wounds (and probably with toughness 5)


So here are the rumors that i found, so post what rumors you have seen here and discuss which of these rumors are false.

Where did you get these from? I like some of what I'm hearing, but without sorces my salt is more generous than pinchy.

Actually, apparently it's coming early 2012. so anywhere from January to March of next year.
