This is not "I don't have the book and I'm fishing for rules."

This is "I played a great game of Apoc today and on the drive home it occurred to me .... "

When a "D" barrage, the blast-mega-huge-template hits, isn't there supposed to be a Pinning check for any infantry that magically survive? Both for the 'flower' petal one and the ... 10" blast? You know, the kind Titans lob from 7 feet away.

IIRC all Barrage is Pinning, mind you that's in the 40k rulebook so if it applies to Apoc or not I'm not 100%

Ordnance Barrage is pinning at -1, so being D barrage would not change that.

That was a good question and a good answer. We've actually forgotten that part in our Apoc battles, I think. Or it could be there's so seldom anyone walking away from under those D blasts anyways...

A follow up; I had Wave Serpents. If the direction of the barrage hits the WaveS's nose or side, their Energy Field would reduce the STR to 8, yes? According to the RB, it is resolved on the (can't find it, page 29 or 58 or ... something) vehicle's side armor, if being hit from 'above'?

Do the Apoc rules make an exception?

I might've had a few less destroyed. Still won though.

D weapons don't have a Strength value to reduce, they auto-penetrate so the Serpent's fields do nothing. Or that would be my interpretation at least. There's nothing saying D is greater than 8.

Destroyers are Strength D. Destroyer weapons auto-penetrate. Strength would count as 8, and it would still auto-penetrate. Now we are fulfilling both rules as they are written.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

D is NOT higher than 8, actually.

True, it also isn't less than or equal to 8.

Ah, STR D. That clicks with how the rolling went (it was a hectic game, being on timed turns!).

Thanks, guys.
