DEAR SHOE,

THAT'S RIGHT YOU ARE A SHOE. THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT NOT BEING A SHOE BECAUSE IN MY MIND YOU ARE ONE AND THAT IS MOST UNFORTUNATE.
AS LONG AS I HAVE YOU CONCEPTUALIZED AS A SHOE IN MY IMAGINATION YOU SHALL REMAIN AS SUCH.
THIS MAKES ME WONDER WHETHER ALL PEOPLES AND OBJECTS CAN BE CONCEPTUALIZED AS SHOES AND THUS BECOME SUCH, GRANTING ME ABSOLUTE POWER OVER THEM. DO YOU HAVE A CLEVER ARGUMENT? NO YOU DON'T, YOU"RE A SHOE. SHOES CAN'T HAVE CLEVER ARGUMENTS.
I FEEL LIKE THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD HAS BEEN LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS UNDER MY CONTROL, NOW THAT YOU ARE ALL SHOES. I NO LONGER HAVE TO ANSWER TO MY REGRETS AND PAST MISTAKES BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMPLY SHOES.

ok drop the SMS on the devil fishs
drop shield gen on your HQ (drones are there for that)
swap you Shas'o to an El with a TA it saves points

not sure why the BSF on stuff you have acute senses so you wont need BSF make sure on all suits with 2 weapons
get that last crisis team some drones and drop the FB anything that close will waste you your better of letting your one piranha be your reactionary so you MP can deal with all the light armor and any extra points to bolster fire warriors numbers

other than that not a bad list

I would invest in some bonding knives for your Warriors and your Suits, especially if your HQ units join a Suit Squad. If they to 2 suits and fail their Morale, that's over 200 Points that's not coming back.

I'm a fan of using Burst Cannons + Plasma/Missiles instead of the usual 'Fire Knife' configuration. They pump out more shots and can pile up wounds surprisingly quick. Your config is on the expensive side (aside from the suicide Fusions).

Not a fan of the Piranha. Overcosted, open-topped, and lacking any quality firepower. Sure going flat out gets you a +4 Cover Save, but other than that its rather meh. I'd suggest dropping them for pathfinders; their markerlights are phenominal.

I would maybe change the Shas'O and give him the AFP/PR with MT , its worked wonders for me in many games if you're facing random armies.
I usually put the Shas'El unit + 2 bodyguards with the PR/MP and TA with the Hard Wired MT(because they can gain access to wargear). This becomes my TEQ and IC hunting unit, because they are hard hitting while able to maintain distance. The reason why i dont recommend the Shas'ui units with MT is because they are firing at BS 3... the way I solve this is twin linking the weapons. So 1 unit of 3 Shas'ui have TL- MP for MEQ and light armored vehicles for example.

I favor the Warfish(devilfish with SMS) because i prefer to hide my troops in the devilfish, then in turn, hiding the devilfish to break LOS of high strength guns. This means they can provide firing support from the SMS while remaining hidden. But if you're not worried about shots and just want to hide your troops, keep the BC or drones for cheapness.

I would recommend Target Locks on your Hammerheads, usually what you're firing the Railgun is out of range of the BC or, going to waste those potential shots. I use the BC for that small boost my army needs for softer targets, the ones that you really need to finish off otherwise they will assault your units. Plus it means you can fire at 3 targets (BC are 2 independant weapons on the HH).

Perhaps Maybe change a HH for a broadside? I find the broadside has far greater accuracy than the HH and soaks up amazing firepower with the 2 Inv Saves from the drones. Also your HH are using a max of BS4, here as the broadside is twin linked, and able to use a TA. I dont usually give my broadside an ASS because i know it WILL be assaulted or killed, but the amount of attention it gets instead of the rest of my army makes it such an amazing asset. Its like an irressistable bait for most armies I've come against.

But thats only my opinion.

Ponder much, consider few, choose one, regret nothing.

As another poster suggested, the Shield Gen should go, demoting to 'El and add a Target Array. If the 'el needs to make an Invuln Save, odds are it's against a PFist, LasCan, ML or melta, all meaning Instant Death. Better a Shield Drone take the 50/50% chance. You keep BS5 and gain some spendable points, like for a BK, which this large unit might need.

BSFs? Why?

I'm not a fan of 3 suicide FB suits. That's a lot of deep striking points to bang one tank.

I like Warfish, but the Sensor Spines are wasteful, unless your FLGS pours on the terrain.

Evaelc wrote:Fast Attack: Piranha(FB)

Again, Sensor Spines. And the MT? WFT? The FusionB busts tanks. The Gun Drones are speed bumps with bad shooting. Their carbine guns are not in the same class as a meltagun. TA would be better.

Unless there's lotsa terrain, I'd toss all the SS, since the DisPod accomplishes a cover save.

Overall, decent list, with one glaring exception; too few troops. RTTs will require troops and two Warfish half-full will quickly evolve into fighting for a Draw instead of a Win. With all the SS out, the cheaper HQ, BSF trimming, it might add up to a min kroot squad for area terrain objective squatting.

The blacksun filters are there to make up points its just one of the random things I do although looking at them now is another 5 points to spend else where.

I like the idea of TL-FB guys because if they take out something big they have paid for themselves and any extra kills are just a bonus.

Sorry typo on the piranha, I meant TA just rather tired when I posted on dakka so not really paying attention.

The kroot Idea may be alright to hold those extra objectives however I am trying to keep the list fairly mechanized.

Overall thanks for the suggestions, may post a new list up soon.

5 Points here and there bonding knifes are great DP on everything and hell the every so often flechette discharger

i still have to say let the piranha be your melta anti tank you can have it charge up and strike the tank/ block it or hang back in cover and counter charge the tank leaving you HQ to support the infantry killing

Imo, there is always a better place to put points than blacksun filters... unless you have only 3 points left.
Evaelc wrote:

Assuming you shoot at a T6 (or below) models, you will get 2.22 wounds on average with your FB unit. That would mean you would have to be shooting at a unit of 80-pt (or more) 1 wound models with no invulnerable to make up the points before you get pwned in CC (or range.)

Beyond this, you can't even guarantee that your suits will get close enough to the enemy to actually shoot anything before they get wasted away, nor are the chances of DS-ing near a valuable unit likely.

I do not agree with your philosophy of "The unit has done its job well if it kills more points that it is worth"... no, the unit has done a good job if you have used it to its maximum ability. Sometimes that will mean killing units worth less than itself, and then dying - at other times it will mean complete sacrifice so that the rest of your army can live to fight on.

What about if you lessened the cost of your crisis suits by dropping the missile pods to burst cannons. It's a great combo that works on infantry and even high toughness units.

Now you lost some Str 7 shots, but you can replace these with ion cannons on your hammer heads, or even keeping one squad as a missile pod unit. Try TL missile pods, or MPs and Flamers, as their cheap and reliable.

Try only 2 Hammer heads with the str 7 shots, and as your last heavy support try and fit in broadsides? as a dedicated AT...

Just some ideas

What would you suggest taking other than the TL-FB instead?

Also not so much a fan of Ionheads.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also the TL-FB were to be used as anti-tank not infantry killing. Planning to deepstrike them. but there probably could be better stuff...
