Before you start, I do not actually play the Imperial Guard. I play Black Templars. But I play with my friends alot and we tend to use a few house rules here and there or use a few units from other codexes if it's in our fluff. Now long story short I will probaby use a Leman Russ as an auxiliary to my main force. I will mostly play against Tau, Eldar, Guard and Orks. Now I think the Eradicator may be better here, it's still gonna ignore most of the armour on the field and has a high enough strength that it will ID most of the IG and Eldar multi-wounds, but the main strength is its anti-cover. My Tau friend tends to (rightly so) stick his fire warriors in the nearest building and shoot at anything within 30 inches. However I cant shake the feeling that somehow the Battle Cannon may be better againt the Orks and to some extent Tau and Eldar. My Tau friend has expressed his desire to take more Crisis suits, which the BC will rip in half provided it gets a clear shot, and the Orks will probably have multi-wounders, so I could use the ID.

What do?

tl;dr: Against Orks, Tau, Guard and Eldar, do I want the Eradicator or the Battle Cannon Leman?

Against those specific armies, it is a close call. You will see most people (when discussing general tactics) always going for the normal russ, because so many opponents in the game are all marines and/or have lots of vehicles. In this case, I can see that both are useful, but I would probably go for the normal russ. There isn't anything else in the codex (maybe in the game even) quite so great for taking out multi-wound and 3+ save models. Whereas the eradicator - well, if you want to ignore cover saves, just get stuck in with some flamers or heavy flamers, which are cheaply available on guard infantry or chimeras. Better yet, take a hellhound or two, which will get you a lot more hits on average and is just as good as the eradicator's cannon for less points!

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

Generally the vanilla LR is considered better. It is a very versatile vehicle.

Oklahoma City, Ok.

LRBT. The Eradicator's range is too short.
