What is the preferred weapon mix for a Blood Angels Assault Squad Sargeant?

Power-Fist/Chainsword
Power-Fist/Bolt Pistol

The Power-Fist is a gimmie based on all the lists I've reviewed on this site and based on the few times I've used assault squads playing Ultra-Smurf's.

I was just wondering what to put in the other hand. The Bolt Pistol seems to be the obvious choice due to the additional shooting attack right before you assault. As far as I know, the chainsword does not give you any additional close combat bonus over the Bolt Pistol (which doesn't seem quite right).

What are everyone's thoughts?

Bolt pistol. You don't get an extra attack for having 2 close combat weapons because the powerfist is a special. So at least the bolt pistol gives you a shot.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some rule that improved the chainsword in close combat.

Also, the bolt pistol counts as a close combat weapon (bolter + chainsword means you get an extra attack for close combat weapons) so there is really no reason not to take it.

Well you will not get the bonus attack from wielding a power fist. So like the person before me take a bolt pistol/power fist so that you can shot in shooting phase and then assault in the assault phase.

Also if you take a power fist in the Death Company you should take a standard bolter, because they have relentless. So they can assault regardless if you rapid fire.
