Just curious as to what some other people could come up with in regards to C'tan conversions. There are only two predesigned models at this point and with the large amount of fluff and upcoming rules to give them I was wondering what people could come up with.
I was thinking the new VC Zombie dragon with the bone done in metal. Horns and muscle in highlighted in shades of greens. The skin in black and the wing membrane in a black with green highlighting like they did with flesh tones in the original paint job. The necrons must be recreating the C'tan and powering them with shards so it would make sense to have it battle damaged with the necron construct underneath. Original pic below.

Is sounds pretty good. Although, are you going to use the C'tan Shard model anywhere?

I know its going to be much bigger but I play mostly with my girlfriend who has DE. I doubt she will mind a bigger target for poison.

The old codex pretty much let you use whatever you wanted for a c'tan. An enslaved monstrous c'tan I think deserves something different. I think this model converted will be perfect. The rods will obviously be green. I imagine them as control rods.

I was thinking (just now after seeing this thread) of checking the Inquisitor models.
Cherubael, Damien 1427 and Severina &/or Sevora Devout (you appear to get them both together) seem like they'd make good C'tan Shards, some of them don't appear to need much work to converting. I'll probably convert Cherubael myself, not sure how though. Maybe wings?

A bit too human looking for me. I'm looking to make a void dragon shard.

To give you an idea...
That's how the Zombie Dragon scales up against a Forge World Dark Angels Venerable Dreadnought.
The kit is far, far bigger than most people assume, and it's also very organic looking. There's pieces of its guts hanging out, etc and the Zombie Dragon version(which allows for the head to be built like that, as the Terrorgheist uses its own separate neck) has a saddle built into it.
Call me crazy, but if you're wanting to do a dragon styled C'Tan...
seems to fit the bill more.
It's the Rock Dragon in the Collector's range.

Yeah but it the bones are silver and the muscle is necrodermis-ey it could work. MUCH bigger than I thought. Would be an awesome project though. If I go straight dragon I think I would do the Carmine from FW and redo the base with piles of MEQs

Again, size plays a big factor. The Carmine Dragon is pretty goddanged big.
Truth be told, I'm not sure why you want the Void Dragon as he's probably not going to be "shardable".
Reason I suggested the Rock Dragon is twofold:
1) It's a single model, which does not have a rider.
2) It's an older model, which means that sizewise it should match up nicely to the normal C'Tan pieces. The posing they gave it seems a bit awkward, but imagining that it's rearing back to strike, and painting it with a silvery sheen and alternating scales of silver and gold...it suddenly becomes a whole heck of a lot cooler.

My main opponent runs mass poison. even if the tiniest little bit of his body sticks out hes dead. The two abilities I want to give him are the up difficult to dangerous terrain to use with mass tremorstaves and the other c'tan ability that gives stealth (also gives assualt/defensive grenades). Might not be the most competitive but I play mostly with my girlfriend who tends to cheat and make up rules anyways. Not such a big deal for me.

If that's the case, why not wait a bit to see what Forge World does for the Incarnate Elemental of Death?

All Lores are getting one, but I do not have an ETA on one for Death specifically.
As of right now, we just have the Incarnate Elemental of Beasts
I'm linking the unpainted photo as it's one of the few times where the unpainted version is 'better' to show to people as the painted version seems to be a very dividing issue. Some like that it was painted in muted, natural tones but others think it looks cartoony.
Also, that's a normal Chariot base that it's sitting upon not a giant base like the Zombie Dragon.

Yeah I've seen it painted. Bad paint job for sure. Whats with the chest vagina? Also dont get the bone/not bone deal. There is quite a bit of detail there though so I have hope.

It's important to differentiate between a bad paint job and a bad color scheme. The paint job is pretty dang good, just the color scheme is not necessarily good.
Whats with the chest vagina?
It's nothing like that. It's a runestone emblazoned with the Lore of Beasts' arrow.
Also don't get the bone/not bone deal. There is quite a bit of detail there though so I have hope.
Basically?
The only part of the Incarnate Elemental of Beasts that is 'real' is the skull. The rest is a collection of flayed hides used to bind the spirit into a vessel.
Oh! Duh. The Incarnate Elemental of Shadow might be worth waiting for too.

It looks like we might be in for a wait, Hox. I asked Forge World on their Facebook page if we could expect another Incarnate Elemental soon, but they stated that work has not begun on a second one yet.
I did put in a vote for the next one to be a daggone Incarnate Elemental of Death though.

Hasn't even started?! Thats really too bad. Was pretty excited about that too. I think as they move further into WHFB C'tan possibilities will expand regardless. They made their first VC unit not too long ago so heres hoping for some new ones!

The Wight Standard Bearer is the first and only planned Vampire model for awhile according to Ead. It was something the new guy wanted to do, and I'll be damned if he did not do a good job on it.
From what I understand though, the design work for the Elementals is done it's just the sculpting needs to be started. They're all going to be in the forthcoming book "Monstrous Arcana" though.

I'll probably end up combining the Daemon Prince kit with the DE Talos to try and whip up something monstrously C'Tan like. Admittedly attempting this is a long way down on my list of things I need to buy for a functioning Necron army. But its nice to dream.

I know right? Got all excited only to find out my 4 wound t7 model thats going to spend most its time against poison is a walking building.
As for the other guy who said it doesnt have to be dragons, thanks tips. Good to see you assumed I had no idea what the c'tan looked like or read the codex or for that matter have owned both the old models for years and grew pretty bored of them, making me want to seek out new ideas now that the option to make custom c'tans existed. Just heard the word c'tan somewhere and thought it would be neat to make it look like dragons, sooo many dragons. Dragon fetish.

Oh I would totally like turning pokemon into killer robots. I grew up with a gameboy color and every young boy wants to create killer robots. I just trust my painting skills way more than my modeling skills. If you can make killer pokemon robots I would be the first to do something awesome like chest bump you.
