(Not sure what forum to put this in. If it's in the wrong one, please let me know, or if you're a mod move it)

So I'm looking to sell my nurgle-themed daemon army on ebay, and I'm wondering how much I should ask for it. Here's a picture (not the best, but the only one I have ATM):

http://www.flickr.com/photos/67011699@N05/6101301269/in/set-72157627441628559

The army is composed of:
1x Fateweaver - this is the "Eye" in the picture. Entirely scratchbuilt. Looks better in person.
1x Skulltaker on a Chariot - this is the guy on the walker. Very heavily converted.
1x Herald of Khorne - the plague ogre with the sword raised above his head and the fancy base.
8x Bloodcrushers - these are the "ogres". All converted. (Note- some of these have cardboard bases. They are the exact size as regular ones, and none of my opponents have never even noticed the difference. No other models in the army have cardboard bases.)
20x Plaguebearers - the smaller models, all converted.
3x Daemon Princes (1 not pictured) - heavily converted and have wings.
1x Chaos Daemons Codex

Every model in the army has conversion done on it, and painting is slightly above tabletop standard. The display board is not included.
In total the army comes out to 2000 points. This army won me Tournament Champion at the Grim Open 2011.

So the final question is, how much should I ask for it?

Your problem is that although the army undeniably looks good, it is a personal interpretation of the background and someone wanting a Daemon army will probably want the proper GW models.

It looks well painted, so I say start it just below what it cost you to buy.

not sure, certainly looks really interesting, more how much do you think its worth to you?
personally I'd like to own something like that, but what I want to pay and what you want to get is probably very different

That's part of the problem, and why it likely won't sell for very much. Total retail for the figures I used in the army comes out to around $250, not counting atleast $40-ish of green stuff. Then there's the bases, and the bits, and the paints, and the flocking, etc...Do you think $200 would be a reasonable asking price for this army?

Whenever I sell miniatures that are in a used state. I ask a starting price of 40% off retail. It's insanely easy to find NIB items for 20-30% off retail these days, and so you need to give people an incentive to buy yours.

With your items already being painted, unless someone wants your exact scheme, you may even have to go lower. More than likely, the buyer will have to spend time and effort stripping the models to repaint. So you will probably want to take that into consideration as well when putting a starting price together.

This is all my personal opinion of course, and just what I've discovered usually works when selling models over the past few years.

Given that it's a theme army, I doubt that the buyer would strip and repaint.
Also, retail for the actual models for this army would come out to around $400. Would you say that $200 is a good price for a fully converted version?

Unfortunately part of the rules of "selling models" these days seems to be:

1) You're stuff you'd have to pay me to take.
2) My stuff is worth more than you have.

That said, I personally would also not be interested in that army.

I would suggest putting it up on ebay for something like $350 and see if it sells. If it does. Great! if not. Lower the price and try again.

Otherwise, you could try Bartertown, Craigslist or the "for sale" section here.

You may have better luck trying to trade it also.

For me, the army is too much "counts-as". I'd hate to have to describe what my army is to my opponent every time I play. Although, I'd say that $200 sounds like a fair price. I'd think you could get that on ebay. Have you listed this army before? I know I messaged somebody about the "Eye" model, I just can't remember if I saw it here or on ebay.

I would probably try to sell these guys at 25% off retail. Odds have it the only people who will be interested are people who really like the theme so from there i'd have some room to haggle.
Overall though as a buyer, i wouldn't want them. So to get me to buy them it would have to be a crazy good deal for me to even give them a second look.

Think about both as a heavily converted army is often converted to your tastes and that makes it a tough sell. Sure it maybe hours of work and hundreds of dollars, but My little pony marines would be a tough sell too, but to the right buyer who knows...

You love it you slags!
