Page 28 of the Nov White Dwarf, they have a Necron Immortal from the Nekthyth Dyansty. It Looks like Black with alot of rust on the trims and thats comming through the paint in spots with red eyes. I got a army comming for the 5th and I want to do that scheme to all my guys. What would be the best way of doing so?

I tried to get a pic of it but phones not showing the detail well enough. Any help would be great!

@ str00dles1, I tried Googling for this dynasty and couldn't find a thing. Even some kind of phone picture would help a tad, unless it's so bad it looks like it was taken with a toaster Any chance you could upload one?

Ah I see what you mean, good to have a reference though, some skilled people might be able to make things out from that. I'll have to pick this edition of WD up if it's all about Necrons. Looks like it's an all black colour first and has then had a hard drybrush on the edges with Tin Bitz then highlighted with one of the gold colours. The rust certainly doesn't look highlighted normally cause it's very rough and not smooth, which is leading me to the drybrush conclusion. But yeah, I'll have to wait till I pick the mag up.

And I think I'll do this scheme too, looks very ancient and intimidating. Thanks for drawing my attention to it inadvertantly!

I would have to agree with oppl, i think you'll have to do a bit of dry brushing on your models to get that same effect. Thanks for sharing a new color scheme +1

Hard to tell from that pic, but maybe something like a tin binz base, 3 or 4 black washes and then some highlighting with gun metal and chain mail?

Thanks guys. Yea its what im going to do for mine, just wanted to make sure. I plan to spray all my guys and transports on sprus black first. I thought about drubrushing them on the sprus still but not sure how well that would work.

Would it be better to just assemble after then do each one at a time with the tin bitz dry brushing then highlughting a gold?

For me, I'd assemble them first. Especially if you're drybrushing. If you do it first them cut them off the sprue you'll have patches of grey plastic to touch up and it's almost impossible to touch up when drybrushing. It's hard to describe but if you try it you'll see why.

i would suggest putting them together and then painting.

I've had bad experiences woth models instead of being bonded plastic to plastic, have been bonded thin paint layer to thin paint layer

Will do. Thanks for the tips. I have always assembled and painted first but I figured since im buying a army al lat once if there was a fast way to get em started. Thanks again! If you start doing the scheme I posted Oppl do share because I would like to see

Actually, the photo is too reddish: The original model has Burnished Gold drybrushed (with details hand painted) to a black base coat.

It's quite a nice scheme, good to see the new necrons will offer oppurtunities for more creative paint schemes. I'll definitely have to pick up that wd.
