I gave both farseers a different 3rd power so I have every base(but eldrich storm which Im not impressed with) covered
- Mix and match your serpents weapons with the unit inside. Anti take serpent gun w/ anti infantry inside. AKA Scatters with Dragons and BL/EML with troops. This mitigates the amount of threat a single vehicle will be.
I actually already planned on this, so I am glad that you said it, as it is heartening to know I am making some good decisions
- 20 Guardians is a waste. The only reasons to take guardians are their warlock and platform which you get at 10. 2 units of 10 is bound and leaps over a single of 20. Also, never ever take single shot weapons on Guardians unless you are utter desperate for more AT.
Here I must respectfully disagree with you. The
AT provided by my guardians is simply icing on the cake for what I intend to do with them. And that is provide a hard to get killpoint objective camper that can throw out a 50 percent chance to hit brightlance, and it will have lead ten with a re-rollable leadership. And 2 units of 10 equals 2 EASY to get kill points that cant reliably hold an objective unless its "late game run to hopefully get to it from the board edge."
- Dire Avengers... suck in CC. Never take the exarch Melee upgrades as you'll find you'll 1 glorified over priced Howling Banshee and 9 liabilities. If doing bladestorm take Dual Catas.
Here I most certainly must agree with you, from my game with them, the exarch is useless and in combat hits like a wet noodle anyways.
- Seer council on foot will be an auto-lose vs GK armies with a Stormraven.
Thats why they ride in the guardians (which will be moved to the warlock squad) dedicated Wave serpent.
Overall the biggest struggle you will have is having only two troops at 2k. Seize ground you'll be struggling for a tie.
I would say with the overall strategy I have for this army I will risk only having two troop choices. Im fine with contesting the rest and holding one.
