He was evil.... it's his thing.
I presume he had been an Inquisitor before his fall... they tend to be characters who can disguise both their true intentions and feelings very well. SM don't tend to be particularly insightful when it comes to humans and emotions... can't really blame them to be honest.

Fair enough, but at the same time, Blood Angels as with other Asartes chapters, face things out in the open...And as far as the Inquisition goes, well they can eat a bio titan dropping.

Many chapters are secretive and have an inherent distrust of Inquisitors and the Inquisition unless they have proved themselves...
