Im starting a new army and i decided to get some SM. I really love the painting and modeling side of 40k, i actually dont play alot of games. I dont know weather or not i should make a custom SM chapter or go BT. I always thought the BT were pretty awsome and loooked sick. Now this i suppose can just be an opinion question but what would you say is great for painting and modeling, creating a custom chapter or the BT.

In theory you could do both...
Though if you like BT you should go with them.
If you wanted to do a BT style chapter it would be fairly easy to come up with an idea to suit it...

A custom chapter using BT models sounds like the solution for you.

Well their models are some of the best out there IMO, especially Sword Brethren. Then decide which set of rules you'd prefer to play with. The vanilla Marines are a tad more powerful I'd say, but that's not to say the Templars are powerless, but they have some real character in there.

Yeah the templars have cool models. If i did a custom one id add a bunchof cool stuf. I like terminators in particular because theres alot of bits to customize them with.
