I'm trying to find alternatives to GW paints for my miniatures, so I'd like to know if there's any retailers in canada, I'm asking because I have bad experiences with ordering things online. I'm also an hour's drive from the closest place where I can get paints.

Thanks.

You might want to list the city you live in so people can offer useful suggestions?

Unfortunately most of the places you'll find that carry Vallejo in Canada are usually based in Ontario. If you're looking to get a bunch of paints then the shipping costs should be offset.

Mini War Gaming carries Reaper paints, which have similar qualities to Vallejo. The choice in which brand you like better might vary by colour between these two. I prefer the Reaper bottles a little more, as I have had issues with Vallejo bottles clogging or paint seeping from the top after shaking the bottle.

EDIT: I'm not sure how much you've looked into Vallejo's line, but they have two main lines - Model Color and Game Color. Model Color is meant for displays, in that it is a little less durable as the paints are not meant to be handled during gaming. The colours are also a little more realistic. Game Color is closer to GW's in that the colours are more vibrant and they dry to a more durable finish, meant for gaming. Of course, a little varnish or sealant might have you choosing Model Color. Either way you can't go wrong, you'll probably end up using a mix of the two because of how extensive both lines are.
