Hey guys,

Could some-one give me a competitive tau list at 600p.
May have 1 HQ max.
Max 2 elites, fast choices and heavy.
Min. 1 troop choice.
Just for playtesting and getting better understanding of Tau for myself.
Thanx in advance.

For 600 eh? Try this:

HQ
Shas'El with Plasma Rifle/ Missile Pod, Targetting Array ,HW Multitracker ,Shield Drone [112]

ELITES
Shas'Ui with Twin-Linked Missile Pods, Flamer [47]

Shas'Ui with Twin-Linked Missile Pods, Flamer [47]

TROOPS
6x Fire Warriors [60]
+ Devilfish with Disruption Pod [85]

12 Kroot Carnivores [84]

HEAVY SUPPORT
Hammerhead with Railgun, Disruption Pod, Multitracker, Burst Cannons [165]

Sorry I did miscalculate for the Hammerhead, thanks for pointing it out guys.
Which is a total of 600.

You can't get a Hammerhead with Railgun for 105pts.

The Hammerhead costs 90pts, then you have to buy the primary weapon system and secondary weapon system.

Railgun costs 50pts, then the cheapest secondary system is 2 Burst Cannons at 10pts for the pair.

So that tank actually costs 165pts.

How about telling what models you have.

And if you go with SlickVictory's list, you deserve the loss (despite being off in points).

How about this:

HQ

Shas'el: Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, Targeting Array, Stimulant Injector and Hard Wired Multi Tracker - Unit total: 107pts

Core

12 Fire Warriors: Shas'ui w/ Bonding Knife - Unit total: 135pts

10 Kroot: 2 Kroot Hounds - Unit total: 82pts

Elites

2 XV8 Crisis Suits: TL Missile Pods and Targeting Arrays. - Unit total: 106pts

Heavy Support

Hammerhead: Railgun, Burst Cannons, Disruption Pods, Multi Tracker and Target Lock - Unit total: 170pts

Total: 600pts

You could alternatively swap out the Hammerhead for 2 XV88s with upgrades and use any left over points to boost the Fire Warriors to maximum strength or get more Kroot.

In Firenze kicking Templar arse.

Why do people say Hammerheads. I believe if you are after raliguns then broadsodes are best.

A Wise Ork once said a profound word: WAAAAAAAGH! Then he got trampled in the incoming stampede!
Current Army: Orks (2000+)

Are you going to the tournament in Zwolle?

don't think, you have to know it if you want to be a commander
2010-> IG losses:5, draws: 1, wins: a really lot of wins
2011 IG losses: 2, draws: 1 wins: 32
2012 losses: 8, draws: 0 wins: 15

But at this points level there probably won't be too many tanks, which will mean more infantry so the Hammerhead's Submunition round could come in useful. Also Broadsides are easier to kill than a Hammerhead and are less manoeuvrable (when the Hammer has a multi-tracker). Also, your Fire Warriors or Kroot can advance behind the Hammerhead, using it as mobile cover.

Dont think you need the team leader + bonding knife on the 2 Crisis TL Missile Pod suits, since they will never be below 50% strength. So you can place some points elsewhere I guess, maybe the Stim Inj on the HQ for FNP rules?

And I think the Hammerhead in your list is 170 points, unless I've read the upgrades correctly. Maybe you added Flechette Discharges but didnt write it?

Oops, yeah the Hammerhead is 170. I just copy/pasta'd the points from one of my army lists but didn't notice that the Hammerhead I'd copied from had the Smart Missile System as opposed to the burst cannons.

Yeah, drop the Team Leader and Bonding Knife on the Crisis team.

Leaves you with 20pts (including the 10 from the Hammerhead) so a Stim Injector on the Shas'el and ten points which could be used to max the Fire Warriors. If you swapped out the Hammerhead for Broadsides then you could also get more Kroot Hounds (they're better than standard kroot in an assault as they have a higher initiative and cost less points)

Edited my list to include the Stim Injector and extra Fire Warrior.

Hey Y'all,

Thanx for the comments and optional lists.
I don't have any models of my own. Just wanna playtest with Vassal. I want to know Tau better, understand their strenght and weaknesses better. And starting to learn, what is what.
Yes, I'm going to the Fanatic in Zwolle, but I don't play Tau.
You going too? See you there then.
Greetings,
