Hey everyone,

I use a very nice army builder called BattleScribe - http://www.battlescribe.net/ which is FREE and very easy to use, and for Mac, Windows and Linux!

One of my favorite parts about BattleScribe is that users can create their own "Catalogs" (Basically, the contents of the codex!) and then use them to make rosters.

As most of you know, the new Necrons Codex came out today. Well, I've already made a BattleScribe Data File for it! It includes all the units/upgrades, as well as unit profiles.

You can get it at the website where BattleScribe data files are posted - http://catalogue.r*******t.org (Not sure if I should say the url, as BattleScribe cannot provide the data files anymore, so they made repositories of them!)

Hope you all enjoy!

To mods: If I wasn't supposed to attach the file, please remove it!

NOVEMBER 15th EDIT - The file has been updated fixing all of the invalid data within. Also, special rules have been added. The only problem at the moment may be the Destroyers. Also, Obyron has been moved to an option within the Nemesor, to make the printed format better.

NOVEMBER 25th EDIT - Added the Necron Overlord Phaeron option. Not sure how that got deleted...

TO EVERYONE HAVING TROUBLE - Try to follow the directions posted at http://bit.ly/sJTOdu, which cover how to add the game system. If that doesn't help, post here, and I'll try to figure out what's up.

Nice work! Works flawlessly (after some tinkering with java updater, on OSX).

Yay!

One issue, when attempting to load the Catalogue (yours) I get a 'java.lang.NullPointerException' error?

Hmm, are you using the "cross platform zip" file? Because I have no problems with that.

Try to put the file (extracted from the .zip, if you haven't) into the Catalogues folder. If that doesn't work, add the repository then put it into the folder.

You may need the game system files, found from the same repository. (Just google Battle Scribe Data File Repository - it's be the url that starts with "catalogue" and read the posts in the forum. One of them has a repository xml file. In Battle Scribe go to File -> Data Repositories and paste the URL. Click "Add" then "Update Data."

I think my mistake was attempting to import the Game System and Catalogue files from within the GameSystem/CatalogueEditor .jar files. When in fact, it was entirely possible to just open the Roster Editor and import both from there.

I've been trying to find a decent army builder-style application for OSX for a while now. Not only have you shown me a great one, but you've added in the new Necrons also. Having just bought the Codex this morning I'm very excited to easily be able to tinker with army lists.

Much appreciated!

I think this may be the same problem as above. Find the repository, or try to open it within RosterEditor.jar

If that doesn't work, I'll think of some more ideas.

I can find it, he just says its faulty as there is no reference, if i import the necron thing, you cant even select WH40k as it will give the same error twice again and do nothing

Roster editor ialready crashes on a 4 th edition dark angels file...

what Java version do you need (bloody hatred for JAVA comes up again), if i try to open the javafiles it halts after the first line telling me it can't find javaw, it looks well structured though, would like to get this thing working

If it can't find Javaw, you don't have Java on your computer.

Which OS do you have and which version of Battle Scribe did you download?

Just a side note, it doesnt allow you to build a 20man warrior squad nor does it allow you to give each wraith a whip coil

Thanks for the upload, although i did notice that in your version you have to take a normal destroyer in every destroyer squad, you couldn't for example just take a single heavy destroyer, which from my (limited) understanding of the codex you should be able to.

cheers for the hard work anyway

This seems like a wonderfull idea, but I'm not a computer person and am having some trouble with it. I downloaded the battle scribe thing, then your necron file, but i get the same error message as above i think.

windows XP, and i have java installed, and neither can i open it through the roster editor.

Do you have the game system file installed? Not having that was my mistake when I first installed BattleScribe.

yeah, i installed everything manually, and went on registering the files one by one, now it seems to work, but a little bit more explanation might have done the job.

This is great! For me the install was flawless, worked first time after I extracted the zip file.

Just one thing, are you able to put Varguard Obyron as a subsection of Nemesor (so it doesn't take up another HQ choice)?

Very nice, just noticed one flaw constructing my army list.

Wraiths, when taking whip coils, only count the points once. So if I want 3 wraiths with coils, it takes me making 3 units to get the points value right.

I may just be blind, but is it possible there's no option to upgrade an Overlord to a Phaeron?

Space Wolves: 5500pts
Tyranids: 3400pts
Necrons: 1850pts
Vanilla Space Marines: 1500pts
Tau Empire: 1500pts

There isn't. The old version (with the Whip Coil error) had the option, the new version doesn't. I managed to edit it in though for myself, which I can share if people need it once I get home.
