So Obyrons the vargards duty ability says that when he uses the ghost mantle that he doesn't scatter provided he aims to arrive within 6" of zahndrekh. So if you were to deepstrike with the mantle and both of them in one unit would the unit ever scatter?

GENERATION 10: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Well, if Zahndrekh is with the deepstriking unit... you can't really aim to land near him, now can you?

thats something ive been wondering as well since it can be taken both ways :

1) he always scatters since zandrek is never within 6" of where hes arriving

2) he never scatters because hes always within 6" of zandrek

Always scatters. Zandrek is not on the board within 6" of his target, so he doesn't get the precision.

:/ It would be better to stick Zandrek in a Warrior Squad with a skimmer shoot it up to a point and Teleport in more guys with Obyrons.

... That's the whole point of the combo. Since they're both IC's they can join separate units. The simple fact that Obyron is in play will dissuade your enemy from attacking Zandrek up-front, and because of that you are free to use Obyron as some added punch to another unit since you lose absolutely nothing (outside of a wound soak i guess), by keeping them together.
