2k points

i have chosen not to use most of the special characters, they tend to be either extremely situational or excessively random. This is what i have come up with after 3 games of testing different units.

HQ:
zandrekh

Royal court
Lord, war scythe
4 lords, warscythes and res orbs

ELITES:
Triarch stalker
Triarch stalker

TROOPS:
10 warriors
10 warriors
10 warriors
10 warriors
10 warriors

FAST:
10 scarab
10 scarab
10 scarab

HEAVY

ann barge
ann barge
ann barge

The lords go to units of warriors for protection and to help against sweepign advance because of the higher initiative, zandrekh also joins a warriors squad. The scarabs are used to reduce armor of high AV value targets, i have used them to destroy LR's completely. Triarch stalkers kill any armor that slips past the scarabs that is high AV. The barges play a role of low AV killers and anti infantry, and also finish off AV that scarabs reduced but could not wreck.

This could use some definite tweaks, but tbh i dont want to hear things like "Hey you need 30 immortals, they are awesome!" because i have 72 warriors and am not going to drop a million dollars on immortals. I will not change the scarabs, i almost have enough for this list already, have playtested them, and they are the best AV killers in the dex, bar none. I lowered the av of two rhinos, blew one up and the str 3 explosion caused the other to explode, they are simply amazing...I have also playteseted the stalkers, and they work wonders!

Victory is not the most important outcome. Enjoyment and excitement is the best outcome, victory is sweeter when it was fun.

The Lords wont help with SA, as they are also I2.

Otherwise it looks pretty legit, but I would almost consider a Doom Scythe over the Annihilation barge (maybe 2:1 in either direction)

The Lords will at least balance out the combat with Warsythes.

This is the best Necron list I have seen so far and although I believe Scarabs are going to be spammed everywhere now at least you have the Triarch Stalkers which I haven't seen anyone use yet. I think your major worries would come from guard or nids, a combat based swarm and an ordnance heavy army will mash you with out the range and the transports.

Thanks for the compliment, i proxied some stalkers in b4 i made the list, they worked quite nicely, but did not seem to have lasting power. That seems to be a major issue with the army, 2 turns of devastating shooting followed by being krumped to bits.

One issue i had was the stalkers not having a cc weapon that ignores armor, which makes it more difficult to be in cc with.

Scarabs, AMAZING. Scarabs, FRAGILE. But they were fragile b4, i made the mistake of assaulting termies and not asking how many PF he had, taking 21 fearless saves sucks.

I tried the doom scythe, not fond of it at all. As well as the doomsday arks.

My only criticism is a lack of mobility... foot-slogging warriors are the only scoring units.
You could drop 10 warriors and get a ghost arc, effectively giving you the same number of shots back, and use it to try and take a distant objective.

I agree with the tanks though, great armour and stuff, but as soon as pens, 50% chance of destruction, then there's ap1 and other benefits.

Well, i could consider it, but that is going to get pricey fast. i would have to drop a warrior from each unit that gets an ark, and would free a couple points. The bad news game play wise is they are not fast skimmers, fluff wise they should be solid heavy skimmer like the monolith with a true av 13.

O yea, and zandrekh will give somebody something they need, like tank hunter, etc.

Too combat the squishyness I think the nightlord or a cryptek with that "nightfight spell" could help immensely at least to keep it from getting shot to death early on.

Good lookin' out Dave! Awesome that you started on your Crons so far ahead, you are all cutting edge now bro!

I hope the second wave comes quick, my list is like yours in that half of it is not released yet.

Hey blade, nice to see ya

The destroyers, well i want to use them, am not sure where i want to fit them in. My thoughts are on taking out a scarab swarm and maybe some warriors, but am not sure if i really want to do that.

The gawd damn transports are ridiculously over priced points wise and it is kind of unfair for what they do, quantum shielding isnt that great, especially after a few turns, and most of these things have short range weapons.

I am going to write three more lists, have a gaming buddy that i am meeting with sunday and we will get in 4 games, one with his eldar and three with my other 3 armies(him playing them and me playing crons).

EDIT:

new list for critiquing:

hq:

overlord
warscythe, tachyon arrow, command barge w/gauss cannon

overlord, repeat above

royal court a

3 lords
warscythes, orbs
cryptek
harbinger of destruction, solar pulse

royal court b

cryptek
harbinger of destruction, solar pulse

Troops:

9 warriors
9 warriors
9 warriors
8 warriors

Fast attack:

5 destroyers
10 scarabs
10 scarabs

Heavy:

3 anny barges w/gauss cannons

on the forum. Obviously

You know, I would have some chronometrons to help with the arrows. 30pts is a lot of points to spend on something that will only hit 2/3 of the time.

What I have
~4100
~1660

Cool second list. I think your Orks and CSM will beat the Crons, I2 and no real way to stay out of assault is a familiar weakness... Savvy use of the pulses may give you an advantage but I still worry about 9 Warriors + Cryptek just going poof under heavy fire or a medium assault.

Arrow is pricey but every time I see The Immortals movie preview of that glowing arrow blowing open the castle walls I want it more and more...

You should come down to LA for Broadside in Feb, when is the next big event up there?

My new list is 40 warriors in Ghost Arks, remembering they are open topped thats a hell of a lot of flayers. The Triarch Stalker for some twin-linked goodness a Monolith, 6 destroyers and 2 heavies plus The Stormlord, his Lychguard, 5 Crypteks and 4 Lords for the Warriors. I think it was 2500 but it gives you an idea of how much firepower they can throw down now.
