From the book, "Furthermore, you can attempt to keep the night fighting rules in play in subsequent game turns by rolling a D6 at the start of the turn. If the result is greater than the turn number, the storm continues and night fighting remains in play. If not, the night fighting rules cease to be in effect and are not used for the rest of the battle." Does this also count against Solar Pulse?

This'll be FAQ'd but I read it as once Imotekh's storm stops you can use solar pulse.

Th eSolar Pulse states that it only ceases for the current player turn, and resumes at the end of it.
The Solar pulse has no affect on keeping the Stormlords ability going. However, you can't use his lightning strikes if you pop the solar pulse in your turn.

Not causing it to cease for a turn, but after Imotekh's ability expires and you try to use solar pulse in order to put night fighting in effect for the turn.

Sure, you can do that. You just can't resume Imotekhs special night fighting ability, or use the Lighting Strikes.

Technically you can....

Imotekh Lightning Strikes occur when the Night Fighting rules are in PLAY. Solar Pulse cancels the EFFECTS of night fighting...

I had the same thoughts, nos, but am also cautiously sure that it will be FAQ'd.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

I'm also sure it will be FAQ'd, but until then its technically possible.

It states in the power's description that night fighting brought into play by Solar Pulse does not allow lightning strikes.

Thanks Mentat, but that had nothing to do with the original question.

Actually, the wording on the solar pulse says that "If the night fighting rules are in effect, they cease to apply...". So it's not the EFFECTS of night fighting as you said, it's the entire night fight rule that ceases. And since the rule for the thunderbolts says "while the night fight rules are in play" and the pulse says they cease to apply...I would say the thunderbolts don't happen that shooting phase if used on your turn.

Imotek's lightning can not be used during the effects of a solar pulse.

To quote the codex:

Note that Night Fighting rules brought into play by a Solar Pulse (see page 84) do not generate lightning

EDIT: Ninja'd. Quite badly, actually

But to answer the question: RaI, solar pulse can still be used. RaW, one could argue that solar pulse to generate night fighting could no longer be used.
