Im having a hard time to apply the "majority of the squads toughness" rule. Here is the scenario:

Wolf Lord (IC) and last surviving SM of squad are being assaulted. (WL has joined squad)

Which WS do you use for to hit.
Which T do you use for to wound.

and now which saving throw is used... i hope you see what i am getting at. There is no majority. We have been having arguments about the interpretation of the BRB.

Thanks for your time

Well the save isn't such a big issue, because that depends a lot on which way the enemy direct their attacks.

The WS and T?

Use the highest WS when there isn't a majority (p.37)
"If there is no majority Weapon Skill, use the highest Weapon Skill of the models engaged."

Use the highest T when there isn't a majority (p.38)
"To keep things simple, roll to wound using the Toughness value of the majority of the engaged foe. If no majority exists, use the highest value in the unit."

The quotation marks are the parts from the rulebook. What was hooking up you and your mates?

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

In close combat, this is seldom an issue because IC's are considered to be their own separate unit in assault.

BRB pg 48, Independent Characts & assaults
"When the attacks are resolved, however, independent characters are always treated as a separate single-model unit (as described under Multiple Combats on page 41), even though they have joined the unit."

If they were shot, you'd use Wolf Lords Toughness as motyak said,

needed this more as proof and validation.. opponent was grabbing at straws after his superior CC "space wolves" were being grinded to dust by 10x WG, Lock & Maugen Ra. Somehow he was reasoning as the superior units T & WS were used, his saving throw should be used as well. Im guessing the step between rolling for wounds (WS & T) & allocating wounds (and thus different saving throws) sth was lost in translation. As far as guided & fortuned 10x WG,Lock and Maugen being an unholy tar-pit of death, that is another post... been getting a LOT of flack about this unit... just need to stay away from low AP templates.
