OK. Just got some new pieces and parts. Looking to try and make a competive list. I am just not sure this is it:

HQ
Librarian w Terminator armor and storm shield

TROOPS
5x Tac Marines Razorback w/ Las Plas
5x Tac Marines Razorback w/ Las Plas
5x Tac Marines Razorback w/ Las Plas
5x Tac Marines Razorback w/ Las Plas

FAST ATTACK
10x Assault Marines (Thunderhammer, 2 Plasma pistols)

ELITES
6x Terminators (Asslt Cannon, 2 Chain fists) w/ Land Raider Crusader w/MM and extra armor
Techmarine w/servo harness

HEAVY
Predator w/ TL LC nad LC Sponsons

Not completely sold on the techmarine, but I wanted to see how he works out. Was planning on putting him in the LR with the Librarian and Terminators.

I was also tinkering about with the idea of the techmarine w/ 5 plasma cannon servitors as a nice support by fire position, but the more I think about it, it seems a bit too expensive.

If you have suggestions, I can field up (in addition to whats above):
2 razorbacks (1 las plas, the other TL LC or HB).
2 vindicators
2 whirlwhinds (would remove razorback option above)
3 dreadnoughts (anything but plasma cannons)
flush out tac squads above
3 devestator squads (4 of each weapon type avail)
Chaplain and Captain in term armor
Assault Terminators
Land Raider
2 more assault marines squads

Its alittle boring IMHO.

It seems as you are just going to sit there and shoot. That is fine if you like that. But then you have this assault element. I don't understand that. You Tac squads are rather useless if the Razorback blows up.

How do you want to play this army? Is it going to be a sit and shoot army?

I guess those questions would help me hlep you better.

Actually 5 marines with bolters is better than 5 assault marines.

Take out assault marines and preds and put in TLAC dreads or the other razorback with 5 bolter marines.
Assault marines are useless, preds will be a bit slow in this list, this fits the idea of your list.

Otherwise combat squad with lascannons would be the way I would start a razorback list.

This list will have trouble in kill point games. each5 man squad and razor back is worth 2 KP and can be wiped fairly easy. I'd probably go with the assault termis especial if they are going to ride in the LR. I also agra the Assault marines are pretty useless, I like dreadnaughts with Hf and drop pod to flame one of my oponent scoring units (prefereably the objective in their deployment zone), you can then use a locator beacon to deep strike your termis to contest for the rest of the game (you could also then park one of your scoring units in the landrader and march to a middle objective

Well, I am not disagreeing with any of what you say. I am just struggling to come up with a decent SM list with what I have. I got some Las Plas turrets over the weekend dirt cheap and was trying to see if that would work out.

Not so sure on the assault marines either. Was just looking at it and felt like there was nothing to counterpunch with. I agree that it really does not fit either.

Is there a specific reason why you are vanilla with this? It would do much better as a BA list

Vanilla marines can do razorbackspam well. Search for razorbackspam for guides.

The list you gave is not a BA list. Give me 4 men with bolters and 1 melta over 4 pistols and a melta.

The problem is you can't have 4 bolters and a melta. In the marine codex you have to have 10 guys before you get a special weapon. Although the Sgt can get a combi-weapon in a 5 man squad.

you can't put 10 guys in a razorback, only 6 you've listed a 10 man squad in a 6 model capacity transport, are you going to combat squad or something?

Well he could be thinking to run them as mini tanks and keep them empty.

by mini tanks what do you mean? also by doing that you have 3 or 4 transports which have no transporties and some footsloggers, but if he wants to i'm not arguing

Well, by mini-tanks, I think he just means Razorbacks driving about empty shooting things.

The revised intents was to combat squad, leaving the LC and 4 other marines static while the other half of the squads were inside the razorbacks.

Yes that is what I meant, Thanks Green is best. I figured that was what you were doing. Thge mini tank idea is really not that great of an idea, just thorw it out there.
