Hey there. Quick question: What's the main difference between the High Elves and their more sadistic counterparts? How do these armies play? Can you have a mass archer and cavalry type setup?
Also, how does Bretonnia play? It's mainly a cavalry army, which I like, but is it possible to create a list similair to the aforementioned cav-archer combo?

I'd say DE have one of the best shootyNess for the fact of 2 shots for each crossbow and armour piercing, which is always useful. HE the archers are pretty good but not as good as DE they both play pretty good if you ask me just got to be quite tactical. As for Empire Mortars, Cannons, handgunners. Do I have to say anything else

Ok for starters High Elf shooting is terrible... So add that to the fact that heavy cavalry is underpowered in this edition and an Archer/Cavalry High Elf Army isnt going to net you many wins. They are Magic/Combat specialists.
Dark Elves can have a really solid output in the shooting phase but, like High Elves, their real strength lies in their Special Choices. Add in a couple of War Hydras and your set.
All elven armies require a lot of finesse, mistakes will cost you dearly but the current Dark Elf Army Book is probably the most balanced in the game right now as they can compete very well in every phase of the game.

As for Brettonia, their archers have access to flaming shots which can be pretty swell especially if your going up against Hydras, Hell Pit Abom's or trolls and such who have regenerate and their also cheap and expendable. Id say Bretonnia is probably the best candidate for an Archer/Cavalry army at the moment.

A repeater crossbowmen/cold one knight army could also be cool, but again it wouldnt matter who you used it wouldnt be considered a particularly powerful build. But it would look great!

Warhammer is the right of all sentient nerds!
