I'm looking to buy some Blue Foam, which I believe is called Extruded Polysterene Foam. It's commonly used for model railroads. Anyone know where I can get some?

Depending on where you live, Lowes or Home Depot may carry it. otherwise http://www.rcfoam.com/index.php?cPath=72&osCsid=5b836dc173b6e68a0560a148021e8778

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for!

Extruded polystyrene foam is commonly sold at home improvement stores as insulation boards (I've seen both pink and blue varieties, which are identical materials, from what I can tell). Apparently, you can get a range of thicknesses, but I've only ever come across 1" sheets where I've shopped.

It depends where you live. If, say, you lived on the central coast of California like I do, it is nearly impossible to find as none of the houses here need that kind of insulation.

So I'm happy for the link too as I'd love to pick some blue foam up!

Ugh, my forever dilemma: where would I get blue foam? My only option is to buy them in bulk to save shipping and handling (since there is no blue foam here), and boy, they do cost a lot. I have a friend in London who can buy some for me but she refuses to bring them here since it'll eat up all her luggage space. So... yeah. I'm sad.

Would get some very funny questions from customs turning up with a suitcase full of blue foam!

Full of blue foam and no clothes on your luggage. Funny questions indeed.
