Anyone know where to get beams for necrons that are NOT green?

If you just go to www.hobbylink.com and search for "fluorescent plastruct rod" it pops up. Linking to their website never seems to work for some reason.

Oddly my first post on Dakka was answering this question.

You're looking for the 3/32" ones, by the way.

Ive never liked those acrylic rods for some reason, just seem a bit out of place and jarring to me.

So personally, id sand them lightly and paint them.

Have you considered painting them so they don't look like they were kitbashed with bits of an old lego set, because if not,

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Given that the rods are now only used on Necron Warriors, personally I'd abandon the whole clear rod concept and simply overpaint them to match whatever you're doing with the non-clear rod equivalent bits in your other non-Warrior models.

hah, I plan on going the exact opposite way with that and adding rods to models which do not have them!

Also, on topic, be advised that these plastruct rods totally will not match the OEM GWS rods; they are much much more yellow than they appear in the picture. Here they are on my Tomb Spyder:

I don't believe I tried these which look (maybe) much closer.

I too will be changing all the Gauss rods in my new necrons to reflect the old style, including the broadsides on the Arks, although mine will be blue.

I have decided to have a different colour for each different weapon type, Gauss = Blue, tesla = Green, Neural Disruptor = Orange, etc. to give a little more visual distinction to my army. On the note of changing the colour of the rods, I have been told that an order to the Lego store might be in order. Apparently the Lego Lightsabres are a decent fit as replacement rods, and they come in a variety of colours including purple.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars."
