Because Ultramarine-haters are secretly ashamed of being wargamers and think they can cover it by hating on their fellow gamers.
Because Ultramarine-haters project their own real-life lack of social skills and pervasive premature ejaculation problems unto the "popular" option in a fictional universe.
Because Ultramarin-haters like to concentrate on the negative, rather than enjoy the hobby.
Because Utramarine-haters are jaded with the hobby and want spoil other peoples fun, wishing everyone would share them in their pretentious misery.
That's the basics more or less.

Pretty much.
I don't hate the Ultramarines, I don't like them either though. 
Most of their hate seems to come from the hate towards them, in other words people hate them because other people hate them. That and the whole hipster approach to it: "They're popular, therefore they suck".

I'll be honest... hating anything fictional is a fairly absurd idea.
You can criticize the viewpoint that led to the creation of a fictional ideology which you disagree with. But actually hating a fictional contruct is fairly silly... though it has to be purely fictional. If something can exist and you hate it then i could understand that... possibly...
Though that is just one wizards opinion... i am a grand wizard though so my opinion does count for more than a regular wizard... or even a regular jedi...
