So after revising my previous list I have come up with this (rather spammy list)

HQ: 130
Belial (TH&SS) = 130

Troops: 1010
5xDW (5xTH&SS, CML, Apot, Banner) = 290

5xDW (TH&SS, LC, CF, CML) = 240

5xDW (TH&SS, LC, CF, CML) = 240

5xDW (TH&SS, LC, CF, CML) = 240

Elites:260
Dread (AC+HF) = 130

Dread (AC+HF) = 130

Heavy:375
Vindicator = 125

Vindicator = 125

Vindicator = 125

Fast:225
Landspeeder Typhoon (MM) = 75

I have come to the conclusion that pure TH&SS doesnt really work. Not sure if 1 TH&SS in each squad is too little tho. The idea is to have them in more of a support role where as the 5 TH&SS provides the CC punch. Vindicators and Dreads can help deal with hordes some. And the Vindicators can possibly nuke some paladins.

I haven't ever really needed a chain fist. I would say TH/SS are awesome and that you should just enough LCs to hold you own in cc. In other words i would have more SS/TH to give the save and the hard hits in combat as one could die the first ap2 shot you redirect to the model.

I think your support is a bit short ranged.

Otherwise I like your list.

Ok lets take about your list.

First we have Belial. I never like to give him a TH/SS as it makes him go an inti 1. I like him to strike before anyone does. i don't want the chance he get killed buy a PW or force weapon while he is sitting there getting ready to swing hammer. Just my choice.

Your DW squads. honestly to me pretty boring. I prefer a bit of diversity in my squads. Not only for wound allocations but you really need some LC's in there. I also don't think you need CF's. Those are wasted points. You only mention 4x CC weapon in your squads. The CML can have LC's or TH/SS as well.

Dreads I think fit but I would make them Plasma cannons, they are free have longer range and are AP 2.

Everything else is good. I have always used vindies in my DW army and will always use them too.

More terminators. Make it more themed around the first company. Vindicators will kill lots but don't fit IMO

Thanks for the comments! The chainfists are mostly there as a points filler but also for those occasions where I run into a Walker or anything with more than AV11 rear armour.

I guess I could trade 2 CFs for MLs on the Dreads (And TL-AutoCs to go with them?) Do you really think I need more Ap2 with 3 Vindis and all the PWs/THs?

The idea with the Dreads was to have them compliment the Vinds but I guess 3 pie plates and 2 ACs might be over doing it.

30" Range of vindis is not awesome but its not really horrible either is it? Not when I have 14 or so MLs/Turn?

My termies (except for the command squad) is already 100% diverse. 1 TH/SS, 1 LC, 1 CF/SB, 1CML/PF/SB and one PW/SB.

I see your point about Belials int and I think I will playtest both ways, if he had an Iron Halo it would be a no brainer to go with LCs but its something about a 5++ that irks me. Hidden fists and all.

I'm not sure about the squads. Deathwing really falter when they lose their specialized roles. With DW assault, I would look at taking a couple of solid assault squads and a couple of tactical and pick one flank to work on. You would benefit from a land raider (or two) for maneuvering onto objectives as a small numbers army can't afford to take and hold objectives in the first couple of turns.

Have you found landraiders worth while in a Deathwing Army?
