Hey people, just a quick Imperial Guard question here:
Can you use a Lord Commissar in place of a Company Command Squad?
As in, could one theoretically play a game with no CCS whatsoever instead using a Lord Commisar? The FOC shows the minimum is one HQ choice, and two troops choices. The Lord Commissar is listed as an HQ choice so..... would it be legal?
As always, thanks for responding to this thread!

Don't get any clever ideas. 2 of those orders per turn will be far handier than an IC who'll get killed the first round of close combat.
Not to mention the 4 meltaguns you can get, regimental advisors etc.

Eh, Lord Commissars are for baby-sitting large groups of HWS to keep them from running away the second one of the teams bites it.

Why Joey, I'm sure I have no idea what you mean
The meltaguns aren't much of a concern because I'm not going to be up against much heavy armor any time soon. If anything flamers would be the way to go, no?

I like to use meltaguns to take out MEQ. If you go with plasma, chances are you'll have feth all of them left when you really need that devestating salvo.

Meltaguns aren't just for tanks. They hurt MCs easily and very, very importantly, can ID T4 models.

Thanks everybody for all the posts, and I'll take your suggestions under advisment. Oh and StormForged this was originally a rule related thread, it just got a little out of hand.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
You know what Nungunz? I think I will take some meltaguns after all. Maybe not four as Joey suggested (still a viable option though, Joe) but I'll give 'em a whirl.
