The Lord on Thunder mount is unreal, if you take 2 its even better. Frost weapon is Str 6, Wolf Claw and you are str 5 re-rolling wounds or to hit.

IMost times i'll run 2 of these lords on T-mounts, then I run 2 units of 2 thunderwolf cavalry. Both units will have 1 guy with PF + SS (or Claw + storm) Other guy will have just a SS. Both will be joined by a Wolf Lord on mount.

The problem is getting cyber wolfs that look great...Cough *Mr dandy* cough

Best unit in the codex, hands down. They're expensive as , but you get what you pay for. A unit of four Cavalrymarines with wargear will set you back as much as a Land Raider--but you don't have to worry about the entire unit getting taken out by a lucky lascannon round. Bit of advice: when you're choosing wargear, make sure that none of your Cavalry models are mechanically identical to any other model in the unit. This really helps out with wound allocation.

EDIT: Tsilber, thanks for telling me about Mr. Dandy! Those wolves look fantastic, and they're certainly cheaper than converting multiple Canis models would be.

They're good, but they tend to get shot apart if you aren't careful. And they can get wiped if they get charged.

They are the killer of most meq/teq and will wreck gunlines and parking lots if set yourself up for a nice multicharge.

Their only weakness are against lash princes, ld modifiers, and de poison spam which will kill anything on foot.
