I am not a player of WH40k (yet) as I have not the funds to support the habit. However I have been interested in starting for a good long while but only recently really started doing homework on it. I decided a good replacement in the short term would be to do all the math-hammer/-craft that I could because I do have lots of time. (and I like that kind of thing)
I have been trying to make up my mind on what army to start with. I really wanted an army that is more 'in your face' than ranged/gun totting. To that end I read the Dark Eldar and Space Wolves codicies as well as some tactica/stradigica things on them. I also think I saw Blood Angels mentioned someplace as a more assault focused army, but I wanted to lean away from the Space Marine type if at all possible. I don't really want just a horde/zerg style either, so I may be painting myself into a corner. If there are any I have overlooked feel free to mention those.
With that said all thats left is to say Hello!

Khornate chaos can be really in your face, since they can be brought into position quite quickly. Not sure if that counts as marines though.
