So im working on the fluff behind my army, honestly just a way to con myself into actually painting it, and i was wondering if i could bounce some ideas off of daka. the basic outline as i have it now is this. the whole ted stabaddon thing is from an ard boys, i posted somehting in the fluff section, but it summarizes as if i call him ted/stabaddon he rolls amazingly but if i called the model abaddon he poo'ed himself or completely wiffed.

Ted was abaddon's "little brother" as much as horus aximond was "little horus". abaddon never felt ted measured up to what he saw himself as, and thusly degraded him and gave him crappy commands. Ted still looked up to him cause well they were "family" (and not yet all corrupted by chaos). During the great crusade abaddon was given orders to capture an enemy temple, the last bastion of resistance on that planet. Ted beat him to the heart of the temple, claiming the glory. unlike when whathisnuts from the first HH book beat abby to glory (cant remember the guys name for the life of me), he was enraged and nearly attacked ted. His "better" side won over though and instead of openly attacking ted he vowed to strike back at him in the future. the heresy happens blah blah blah lots of dead loyalists oh noes horus is dead lets run away. during the second black crusade abaddon decided it would be a good chance to rid himself of his "litte brother" and take some loyalists with him at the same time. he sent Ted to lead a contigent of iron warriors against an enemy stronghold. once Ted and the IW had taken out the defense lasers, abby blew the fortress at the remaining IW to kingdon come. Ted, along with his friend (no name yet but seargent/aspiring champ of a squad of IW) along with seven marines from another squad managed to survive deep inside the fortress. (those guys plus two rhinos make up my 500 point list) Ted emerges form the bombed out fortress to find the IW slaughtered by his own brother. he instanty turns the massive amount of love and respect into hatred and revenge and vows to one day amass the forces reqired to amke abby answer for it. kills the remaining defenders of the fortress to make himself feel better.

now obviously this is hastily and crapily written, its just the backbone of what i want the start of my story to be. there will be a few examples of his strong bond with the as of yet unnamed seargent of the IW and how he feels more at home with them etc. up till now covers the start of my painting journey and should get 500 of my 25k painted.... yeah i have a long way to go but thats what happens when you used to switch what chaos army you play every few months. haha. my plan to bring it to a 1k list is him finding scattered survivors of the bombardment and a miraculously intact line breaker squad. one vindi is still busted beyond his skills of repair though. they then take a l"ightly" defended civilian starport stealing a ship and leaving with the tanks and whatever additions make my list 1k points (everyone else will conveniently die in the assualt ).

As I actually get my guys painted (once im done with this damn deployment) and get the story fleshed out ill post it in an army profile thing. but i want to use this thread as my idea bouncing board.

so what does everyone think about teds story thus far?
