Executing Exarch

Hi there

I'm just starting Eldar, and I was wondering what your opinions were on the best way to arm a Dire Avengers Exarch?

It's for non-competitive play, and to face allcomers, so any advice on the best setup would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Of whatever information i've soaked up (starting Eldars aswell!), people take the Ex-options depending on the list.

In mech-lists, people use 5 DA's in a WS. They call this DAVU (Dire Avenger Vehicle Upgrade), as the transport becomes scoring.
- Alternatively, people pump up the DA squads with 9 DA's + 1 Exarch, and give the Ex the Dual Cats (5 pts for two more attacks) and the Bladestorm.

The Dire Avengers can also be used in Footlists, but instead of the ranged upg's, they're used as a screening/tarpit-unit, and is given the Ex with Defend and Shimmer Shield.

That's pretty much the combinations.

The Bladestorm Avengers are my favourites. Dual Cats, Bladestorm and throw in Doom and Guide. The enemy unit will not be shooting back at you.

DAVU is the most competitive choice, but I fond it boring and it doesn't reflect the Eldar as a race at all (in other words unfluffy).

I've never tried the Defend/Shimmershield variant, but it would work greatly against Grey Knights combined with Fortune.

Alaitoc Eldar: 5000p

Vampire Counts: 3000p

Death Korps of Krieg: 7000p

World Eaters: 2000p
